The house is located in one of Mexico´s traditional XIX century suburbs on what was the pre hispanic of Tenanitla, in Coyoacan . It was here that in 1931 Rivera asked the architect Juan O´Gorman to design a house for Frida and him The house was one of the first examples of functionalist architecture in Mexico. It was inhabited by Frida and Diego, for six years here Frida painted some of her works as she progressed as an artist in the difficult national and international scene. In the same way Diego produced during the next 23 years more than 3000 paintings famous .

It was here that her high school friends joined her in a group self-called “los Cachuchos”.On September 17, 1925 18 year old Frida suffered an accident while riding in a bus, the event marked her life breaking her as a twig but brought up the artist inside her. As we look at her work we will discover Frida the woman expressing her feeling into colors telling her life story both in painting and writings. We will hear, a loving and tender Diego calling her from the garden. It was the Blue house a nest to this hearts that coincided in a dance of space and time. If we are attentive we can still hear them laughing, as we exit into the streets.
