Chapultepec Castle National History Museum
During the viceregal period, Chapultepec was appreciated as a place of rest and recreation, for which it was built, at the base of the hill, on the foundations of what was the residence of Moctezuma II Xocoyotzin, a palace that gave shelter to numerous viceroys and distinguished visitors for more than two centuries.
