I've been guiding family and friends in Mexico for over 30 years, arranging tours, van rentals, accomodation, excursions, archaeological visits, museums, etc., Now I completed my official general guide course in order to be certified by the government to guide national & international guests. I love my country, its culture, history, etc. and know a lot of interesting facts besides the normal guidance for tourists. I've travelled extensively across the country and love to share my knowledge because it's like rediscovering everythin again!

Mexico

Hello! I’m Joaquin, but you can call me Joaco. I’m excited to share my deep love for the beautiful place where I was born—Oaxaca. Living in a small coastal community is truly a privilege, and I’m proud to be part of a culture that values the rich secrets held by the Chontales, our local people. The Oaxaca coast is a surfer’s paradise, with over 20 incredible surf spots nestled along just 100 kilometers between Salina Cruz and Huatulco. From April to October, during the swell season, you’ll find world-class waves that invite both adventure and tranquility—all without the crowds you might encounter elsewhere. I invite you to join me in discovering the magic of this stunning coastline and the unique experiences it has to offer!

Mexico Tour Reviews

Super detailed and comfortable

Experience with Oskar was great! Oskar arrived exactly on time with the transportation. He was very knowledgeable about the pyramids. His passion for history comes through - not just Mexican history but world cultures and their histories. It was fascinating to hear him connect the dots for us on not just what was happening in Mexico’s history but also what cultures around the world were going through at that time. He patiently answered the questions my 7 yr old had about the Basilica and about religion. He even got my kids ice cream to keep them motivated to walk during the tour given how hot the weather was. We really enjoyed our conversation with Oskar and are glad he helped us explore his city and fall in love with it.

Great Experience with a great Tour Guide!

Rafael was super flexible, had vast knowledge of the city and always ready to help whichever way he could. We were a party of 6 senior citizens - he kept up with our speed and likings. I had an emergency knee surgery 2 weeks prior to the scheduled trip, but decided to go with the mindset that I would visit whatever I can with my limitations. Rafael arranged for a wheelchair and a very sweet and caring young person (Luis) through his contacts (unbelievable!) and because of this arrangement I did not miss a thing! We are truly grateful! He covered all the places on our wishlist plus suggested places for our free time. With his suggestions we visited local markets, Art Fairs and various charming neighborhoods. He also recommended some great restaurants and joined us for some meals. We highly recommend him.
