The Koutoubia Mosque is a 12th century built mosque, whose tower is considered the main landmark in Marrakech. From there, we go for 15 minutes walk Saadian Necroplis.
A Marvelous Burial Ground for the deceased Saadian royals and their descendants, dating back from the 16th century. The site consists of exquisite and well embellished mausoleums in the grand style of the Alhambra. From there, we go for 20 minutes walk to Bahia palace.
Bahia Palace is a stunning example of Moroccan architecture and design. Built in the late 19th century, it is a complex of gardens, courtyards, and rooms that are filled with intricate details and vibrant colors. The visit lasts approximately 45 minutes to one hour.
After visiting the Bahia palace, we go for a long stroll across the medina street and then stop in any of the restaurants with a rooftop overlooking the medina.
We resume our walk in the afternoon by visiting Medersa Ben Youssef, a historic Islamic school built in the 14th century. The madrasa was once the largest Islamic school in North Africa with its impressive architecture is a testament to the skill and craftsmanship of Moroccan artisans.
After the madersa, we spend the rest of afternoon exploring the maze-like streets of the medina and the large array of workshops where craftsmen produce goods to be sold at the souks.
