Day 1: Fly to Lukla or Ramechap and Trek to Phakding

The Everest Base Camp Trek 12 Days starts with a flight to Lukla, either from Kathmandu or Ramechhapp. During peak trekking season, air traffic can be a problem, so the flights are operated from Ramechaap. From Kathmandu, it takes around 4 hours drive to get to Ramechaap. We have to leave Kathmandu early in the morning around 2 am so that we can catch an early flight to Lukla. Upon reaching Lukla, we will take a short tea/coffee break and start to walk towards Phakding. Overnight stay at Phakding.

Day 2: Phakding to Namche Bazaar

We begin our day with a hike through the rhododendron forests and Sherpa settlements. Similarly, explore the Yak pastures and Farmlands during the trek. As you approach Sagarmatha National Park, you can see a glimpse of Mt. Thamserku. The trek continues to Namche Bazaar beautiful small town in the Khumbu Region. Overnight stay at Namche.

Day 3: Namche Bazaar Acclimatization

Today we will hike around Namche villages and explore the beauty of this area. We have options like exploring the Namche Bazaar or hiking to Syngboche or even Everest View Hotel. The hike offers amazing views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Thameserku, Lhotse, and Nuptse. After finishing the hike you can just roam around the town or even visit some local schools. Overnight stay at Namche.

Day 4: Namche to Tengboche

The trail from Namche to Tengboche is somehow easy but beautiful too. We will descend to Dudhkoshi Valley and start to ascend to Tengboche. As you gain the altitude, some of the highest mountains are waiting for at a distance. After crossing the Imja River, we will arrive at Tengboche. Also, if we arrive early than expected then we will visit Tengboche Monastery too. Overnight stay at Tengboche.

Day 5: Tengboche to Dingboche

After having early breakfast, the trip to Everest Base Camp continues passing deep valleys and enjoying the mountain views at the same time. We cross the Imja River again and ascend to Dingboche beautiful Sherpa village. During the trek, you can find hamlets, beautiful chortens, mani walls, and prayer flags. Also, you will be staying above 4000 meters today so, you may find it a bit uneasy to breathe. But we suggest to stay calm and continue to drink plenty of water. Stay hydrated throughout the day.

Day 6: Dingboche Acclimatization Day

This is the 2nd acclimatization phase of this EBC Trek, which is very important before we gain more elevation. We have the option to hike the Lhotse-Nuptse Ridge to enjoy the mesmerizing views of Ama Dablam. Otherwise, we can just roam around the Dingboche and let ourselves acclimatize to the altitude. Overnight stay at Dingboche.

Day 7: Dingboche to Lobuche

We begin the day heading north walking for an hour to reach Mani-Prayer stupa. Then, we will descend to the pheriche. Similarly, from Pheriche, the trail continues near Dugla where we come across a small river of Khumbu Glacier. On the way, we can see the views of the wall of Nuptse, Kangma tse, and north-Pokalde. Overnight stay at Lobuche.

Day 8: Lobuche to Gorakshep and hike to Everest Base Camp and return back Gorakshep

Today is one of the important days of our 12-day EBC Trek. The day is going to be quite long and we will hike to Everest Base Camp today. The trail to base camp is quite challenging as we follow the rocky moraine path and witness glacial ponds and icebergs. One of your dreams to trek to Everest Base Camp finally comes true today. Snap some memorable shorts from your camera at Everest Base Camp. After spending some time here we will return to Gorakshep to stay overnight.

Day 9: Hike to Kalapatthar (5550 meters) and Trek down to Pheriche

We leave for Kalapatthar early in the morning, which is also the highest point of this whole EBC trek journey. The sunrise view from Kalapathhar is magical and panoramic views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and many more can be seen. After witnessing some magical views we will hike down to Gorakshep to have breakfast and then trek to Pheriche. Although it's going to be a bit long day but trail is quite easy. Overnight stay at Pheriche.

Day 10: Pheriche to Monjo

From Pheriche, we will have a short trek compared to the previous days. We will stop at Monjo today rather than in Namche. But if you feel like you can make it to Namche then we will trek to Namche on the same day. The trail gets easier every day when we descend. Overnight stay at Monjo.

Day 11: Monjo to Lukla

After having breakfast we trek down to Lukla Via Namche Bazaar. The trail passes through rhododendron forests and crosses the suspension bridges. You can see the sherpa farmlands along the way to the Lukla. Overnight stay at Lukla.

Day 12: Fly Back Kathmandu

After completing the trek you will fly back to Kathmandu. Take an early morning flight from Lukla and head to Kathmandu.
