Braga is the capital of Minho region. A two thousand years old city, the oldest portuguese town.

It is known as the "Roman city"; but also as the "baroque city", due the high number of baroque monuments and also, as the "Archbishops city" because for centuries its archbishopric was the most important in Iberian Peninsula.

About Tour Guide Fernanda S.

Hi there! Welcome to Guimarães and Braga, Portugal.

My name is Fernanda. In the past I have studied Tourism and worked as a hotel receptionist for 6 years in Oporto. I then returned to University and got a Bachelor's degree in Portuguese/Latin/Greek and became a teacher.

I like talking to people and I have enjoyed visiting cultural sites and monuments ever since I was a child. I especially like to communicate with people from other countries and cultures. Finally, Braga and Guimarães are two towns I know really well. For many years I studied in both Braga and Guimarâes, and I also worked for years in Guimarâes.

I would be happy to be your personal tour guide as I have done so many times for my overseas friends. I would love to take you to popular places as well as places unknown to the average tourists. I can provide you with the valuable insight of a local, along with a unique experience, as I have been doing for the last 10 years as a private tour guide.
