Hi, I'm Hiroko. I was born in Kyoto and currently live in its suburb. My parents are also from the ancient capital city, so some of its historic places were like my playgrounds when I was a child. Now, as a national certified tour guide, I would like to show you around not only Kyoto but also Osaka and Nara enjoyably and time-effectively. For your reference, I lived in New York, U.S.A. for about 20 years and worked there for about 17 and a half years, so I believe that I will be able to communicate and speak well with you in English. My motto as a guide: If you are happy, I'm happy. Please don't hesitate to ask me to customize your tour. I'm looking forward to seeing you soon!
Please kindly note the following:
I basically conduct walking tours using public transportation.
Transportation, entrance fees and lunch for you and the guide are not included in the guide fee.
All tours can be customized for you. Send me a message with your requests!

“What a fun day!”
Hiroko made one of the most beautiful days of my life. My Nara tour with Hiroko was both fun and informative at the same time. From the incredible experience of feeding deers at Nara Park to the spiritual moments at Todaiji Temple, Hiroko made each experience so worthwhile and unforgettable. Hiroko's patience, punctuality, understanding and vast knowledge makes the journey even more amazing. Arigato Hiroko from the bottom of my heart for educating me about Nara and for making my journey so meaningful and unforgettable.

Dear Ana, I am extremely honored by your kind and generous review. Thank you very much for sharing your photos with me. I am so glad that you enjoyed feeding wild deer at Nara Park which is unique to the ancient city. You are such a nice lady, and it was all my pleasure to show you around in Nara. I hope that I will see you again sometime in near future. Sincerely, Hiroko

“Such an amazing journey!”
Without doubt Hiroko is the best tour guide you could ever have. She is knowledgeable, patient with your questions, respectfully understanding and the right person you could learn from about Kyoto. Her explanations about each temple, custom and area could take you back to history book. My tour with Hiroko was so informative and interesting at the same time that I'm planning for my next adventure with her in future. Thank you Hiroko for making me familiar with amazing history of Kyoto. You have given me a vast knowledge and tremendous respect for Kyoto, and for that I'm deeply grateful.

“Wonderful family day”
Hiroko was a great guide. Family of 4 with two sons Aged 8 and 10. Great itinerary set by Hiroko. We started at 7am as we are early rises. Hiroko planned all the stops and guided us buying train and bus tickets throughout the day. She was very knowledgeable and super sweet with the boys. Highly recommend Hiroko as a tour guide for knowledge, timing, planning and just a lovely lady.
