About Tour Guide Hiroko D.
Hi, I'm Hiroko. I was born in Kyoto and currently live in its suburb. My parents are also from the ancient capital city, so some of its historic places were like my playgrounds when I was a child. Now, as a national certified tour guide, I would like to show you around not only Kyoto but also Osaka and Nara enjoyably and time-effectively. For your reference, I lived in New York, U.S.A. for about 20 years and worked there for about 17 and a half years, so I believe that I will be able to communicate and speak well with you in English. My motto as a guide: If you are happy, I'm happy. Please don't hesitate to ask me to customize your tour. I'm looking forward to seeing you soon!

“A wonderful day!”
We loved our day in Kyoto with Hiroko D. She was the perfect guide for us. We enjoyed the wealth of information she shared at each of our tour spots and along the way. We toured Eastern Kyoto, including Kiyomizudera, Yasaka Shrine, Kodaiji Temple, Gion, and Kenninji Temple. We had lunch in a well-established soba restaurant (I think she said it has been in business for 100 years). We enjoyed the delicious lunch and the restaurant's atmosphere. I can't say enough about how we enjoyed our time with Hiroko. It felt as though we had made a friend in Kyoto! We highly recommend her as a guide.

Heather, I feel truly honored by your kind and generous review. Both you and your husband are nice and friendly, and I really enjoyed your company as a guide in Kyoto. I was also impressed by "Sukiyaki" you sang along the way. That was just perfect! Please send my warmest regards to your husband for me. Hope his toe will be healed very soon. Sincerely, Hiroko

“Highlights of beautiful Osaka”
Our group of 4 met Horiko again at our hotel in Osaka. We had used Hiroko 2 days ago, on a private tour of Kyoto. Our first stop was the beautiful Osaka Castle, it was gorgeous with so many cherry blossom trees surrounding the castle. We took numerous photos there as there were many great photo opportunities. We then went to Shitennoji Temple, after spending time there we went to Shin Sekai, a retro downtown area of old Osaka. After we had lunch at a local restaurant. We proceeded to go Kuromon, the kitchen area of Osaka. After that we explored the Umeda Sky Building, a 40 story building with panoramic views of Osaka, We finished the tour by going through the Dotonbori area with street eateries and electronic billboards and canals. We had a wonderful time with Horiko who provided history and the significance of each landmark we saw. Thank you for showing us Osaka with you, it truly is a beautiful city!

Al, Thank you very much for taking your time to write the second kind and generous review. I was so glad to see you enjoy Osaka Castle along with beautiful cherry blossoms. Even though it was rainy, all of you were positive, which impressed me a lot. I really appreciate your choosing me as your guide here in Japan for two days. All the best, Hiroko

“Wonderful Custom tour of Kyoto”
We had an excellent time with Hiroko as she customized our itinerary for Kyoto. There were 4 of us in our group and it was our first time in Kyoto. We went to Kiyomizudera Temple, Fushimi Inari Shrine, where we saw the red Tori gates. They were amazing! Hiroko even flexed our time as our wives wanted to spend some time shopping along the way. We also had time to have for a wonderful lunch on our way to our next destination. Our final stop was Arashiyama, we saw a beautiful nature area and beautiful garden along with the Tenryuji Temple. We were also next to the Bamboo Grove where we spent extra time with photo shoot opportunities. These were amazing places Hiroko took us to, and she went over the history and significance of each location. She conducted the tour in English which very important to us. We have also booked for another private tour with her in Osaka. I highly recommend utilizing her for your next tour if you want a guided tour.
