About Tour Guide Hiroko D.
Hi, I'm Hiroko. I was born in Kyoto and currently live in its suburb. My parents are also from the ancient capital city, so some of its historic places were like my playgrounds when I was a child. Now, as a national certified tour guide, I would like to show you around not only Kyoto but also Osaka and Nara enjoyably and time-effectively. For your reference, I lived in New York, U.S.A. for about 20 years and worked there for about 17 and a half years, so I believe that I will be able to communicate and speak well with you in English. My motto as a guide: If you are happy, I'm happy. Please don't hesitate to ask me to customize your tour. I'm looking forward to seeing you soon!

“Kyoto - Arashiyama, Kinkakuji Temple, Nino-jo Castle”
We had a wonderful day exploring the marvellous sights of Kyoto with Hiroko. She was so gracious, kind and efficient in the way she got us around to all the destinations. We did not have to worry at all about what transportation to take - she had it all planned out which made our time enjoyable and worry-free. Hiroko was very knowledgeable about all the sights and took us for a great Okonomiyaki lunch experience. We highly recommend Hiroko. Thank you so much, Hiroko.

“Where history unfolds with depth, grace, and a quiet elegance.”
Our time with Hiroko felt less like a tour, and more like being gently guided through layers of time. Her knowledge is remarkable, yet what makes her truly exceptional is the way she shares it with ease, depth, and a quiet sensitivity that draws you in. Even under the continuous rain, she created something unexpectedly beautiful; the experience never felt diminished, only more intimate, more memorable. Through her stories, ancient Japan came alive… the world of the shoguns, their significance and lasting imprint on Japanese culture, the delicate balance in their relationship with the Emperor, and the rhythms of everyday life, all unfolding with clarity and grace. She added another meaningful layer to our understanding of Japan and its history.

“A great fun packed day in Kyoto!”
Our day in Kyoto was nothing short of magical, all thanks to our exceptional tour guide, Hiroko. From the moment we met her, we knew we were in for a treat. Hiroko's warm and welcoming nature immediately put us at ease, and her deep knowledge of Kyoto's rich history and culture made the experience unforgettable. We started our day by exploring some of Kyoto's most iconic sites, from the tranquil Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion) to the serene Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. Hiroko shared fascinating stories about the history and significance of each location, adding layers of meaning to our visit. She also took time to answer our questions and offered excellent recommendations for the rest of our stay. If you’re looking to experience Kyoto in a way that’s both informative and fun, Hiroko is the guide you want. Her passion for her city, combined with her vast knowledge, made this day one of the most memorable parts of our entire trip. Thank you, Hiroko, for showing us Kyoto’s best.

Hello, my name is Nicolas. I’m originally from Argentina and have been living in Japan for the past eight years, proudly calling Osaka my home. Being married to a Japanese wife has given me a strong personal connection to the culture and a deeper understanding of everyday life here, far beyond what most visitors get to see. Tourism has always been my passion and profession, and I have spent these years working in the tour industry, helping travelers discover Japan in a meaningful and enjoyable way. I love sharing not only the famous landmarks, but also the small details, stories, and local experiences that make this country so special. My goal is to make every tour feel relaxed, authentic, and memorable—like exploring Japan with a knowledgeable friend who truly loves living here. I look forward to welcoming you and showing you this amazing place I now call home.
