Welcome to Japan! My name is Chiaki. I’m a government licensed guide interpreter, a wife and mother of two grown-up children. I’ve been living in Tokyo for 30 years so I know the area well.
If you don’t want to miss popular “must see” places, wish to eat a variety of Japanese popular and delicious food, have particular interest in Japanese theatrical arts, architectures, gardens, tea ceremony and “kawaii” characters, or are tired of tourist spots and like to see the real life of people in Japan, I can help you.
My goal is to help you to make your stay in Japan as memorable and fulfilling as possible. If I can serve you to make your special trip more special, it will be my pleasure.
Important
If you stay in the central area of Tokyo or Chiba, I will pick you up and drop you off at your hotel or anyplace you like.
We will take public transportation and walk a lot so please wear comfortable shoes.

Food tour of Tokyo for First-Timers
Japan is known for a lot of delicious food. This tour takes you to Tsukiji Outer Market (the old and historical area which supports people's stomach) and Ginza. During the tour, you will know the Japanese transportation system and how to find good and reasonable restaurants, etc. so that you can visit other places by yourselves. Please feel free to consult me concerning where to visit and see. You can see and eat a variety of local food on the streets in Tsukiji, become familiar with the town.

Shinjuku is always the exciting city and have many faces. We visit the beautiful Shinjuku Gyoen garden, a sophisticated department store, a historical shrine, narrow back streets of bars and pubs and famous nightclub streets.
Shibamata: Beautiful Gardens and Good-Old-Days Downtown
Shibamata is a small and old downtown with a temple and beautiful Japanese gardens, located in the east end of Tokyo. You will find the nostalgic lifestyle of ordinary people in 1960’s. The town is not stylish nor modern, but full of atmosphere of Japanese traditional neighborhood life.
Welcome to Japanese Home Tour
Tired of popular tourist spots and like to see the real life of people in Japan? Visit my home! I live in the suburban area of Tokyo which takes about 50 min. from Tokyo station (20 min. train and 15 min bus ride). You can buy your favorite food at a grocery store near the station and cook lunch together in my kitchen.

“Busy and exciting day”
Chiaki was very responsive before our trip and factored in our wishes to her great suggestions. Our 6 hours were packed with a great mixture of experiences which meant we saw so much of both old and new Tokyo. Her English was good and she had lots of interesting stories to tell. She kept up a really quick pace (which was what we wanted) so we arrived everywhere at the perfect time but was always considerate to our needs. She also left us with the skills and confidence to navigate the metro system by ourselves which was quite an achievement. Thank you Chiaki. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you to others.

“Great introduction to Tokyo”
This was our second tour with Chiaki (after an initial short tour the previous day) and involved Chiaki guiding us to several sights across Tokyo. We had agreed an itinerary beforehand and found the communication process straightforward. On the day itself, Chiaki confirmed our plans for the tour and made suggestions as to additional possible places to include, to suit our interests and practical travel options. Chiaki is an amiable host, full of knowledge and was very willing to adapt the tour to incorporate our interests and to provide a suitable balance of the temples/shrines, gardens, shopping, restaurants/cafes etc. Throughout the day Chiaki provided the right amount of information about the places we visited and about life in Japan. She also offered very helpful information on places to eat, and how to navigate Tokyo’s public transport system. (We each bought a digital Suica travel card before our tour and this proved very useful.) We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and would recommend Chiaki without hesitation.

“Excellent evening tour ”
Our two-hour tour with Chiaki was just what we wanted. It was in the evening of our first day in Tokyo (and our first ever day in Japan) and helped us to familiarise ourselves with the area around our hotel in Shinjuku. Chiaki met us in our hotel lobby at the agreed time and led us to the local points of interest. She is a delightful guide, very knowledgeable and answered all our questions clearly. An excellent start to our visit to Japan.
