Hi! I am a Kyoto local and love to visit temples, shrines and gardens. Although a middle school by grade, I have spent a couple of years providing guided tours of Kyoto, Nara and Osaka to small groups.
Depending on your interests, I’ll provide many different types of tours such as cycling tours, tea ceremony experiences, cooking, tours of Nishiki market and Gion, visiting Sake brewery for tasting as well as sightseeing spots. Night tours to stroll Gion and Pontocho where Geiko(Geisha) live? Of course!
Looking forward to being your guide.
(Speciality) Geisha ( Geiko ) and Maiko show interpreter, tea ceremony and Ikebana, gardens and architecture
(Owned license) tea ceremony and ikebana master, garden / landscaping and construction management engineers , International Kikizake shi/ Master of Sake.
I can take you not only tourist spots but also local, not touristy, hidden gems.
I'm also an amateur photographer!
Friday to Sunday are available all day, depending on my schedule.
During spring, summer and winter holidays, I am available weekdays.
“Friendly, Engaging, Informative ”
Chika was a delight. She was punctual efficient and prepared with visual aids. She was able to alter our schedule as needed to accommodate our needs (we had to stop to buy some comfortable walking shoes). She provided us with a vocabulary sheet for rudimentary Japanese expressions.

(9 reviews)Hi, Patrick Thank you so much for sending me warm comments. I’m so delighted to hear that. I hope you have a pleasant journey! On the rabbit island I mentioned, Tadanoumi is the name of the port. The rabbit island is “ Okuno-jima” or “Okuno Island” in Hiroshima. You should prepare rabbit feed on your own and take a ferry from Tadanoumi to the island. ( It’s better to arrive earlier, it’s crowded ) Bring your own lunch and enjoy them near the sea would be fun! If possible, You can rent bikes at only one hotel at the island. https://www.tokyocreative.com/articles/19245-bunnies-bikes-and-beaches-why-you-should-consider-okunoshima-for-your-next-island-getaway Speaking of cat island, I recommend “ “Aoshima”, but it’s too far from Kyoto. Anyway, if you’re willing to travel to Japan ( maybe Kyoto, Kobe, Okuno island or so ), please contact me again. Looking forward to seeing you. Say hello to Laura and Sophia. Very best, Chika
“Fantastic visits to Osaka and Kyoto”
Thank you Chika for a wonderful tour. We saw so much of Osaka and Kyoto at a perfect pace for my six year old daughter, despite the heat.

“Informative and Fun Kyoto Tour with Chikako”
My family and I visited Kyoto in July and had a wonderful day with Chikako. I asked her to give us both an "orientation" to Kyoto Tour but also to include a few special stops along the way considering we had our 4 year old daughter Kirana along. Chikako was intelligent, casual, organized, fun, and thoughtful. She showed us the highlights of this fascinating and beautiful City (Temples, Gion, Zen Gardents, etc) while also sampling some great food from the market and an amazing tea tasting experience. Just the right combination of organization and spontaneity. My kids loved her sweet style and I appreciated her knowledge. In addition to being a Tour guide she is also a Middle School Teacher and it showed! My only regret was not booking her for the whole week! Matthew from Bali
