About Tour Guide Nozomi T.

Hello! I'm Nozomi. I was working in the tourism industry in Tokyo for 30+ years, then I moved to Nagoya and worked as college professor teaching tourism and English for 10 years, and just retired from teaching March 2023.

Nagoya is the prefectural capital of Aichi and you may have an image that Nagoya is an industrial city but it’s not just that. Nagoya is the city with varied attractions. This region is the cradle of the three most famous Samurai lords from the 16th century and there are lots of interesting historic sites and stories. Nagoya is a member of UNESCO creative cities and it is certified as City of Design. It hosts annual World Cosplay Summit which is participated by fabulous Cosplayers from around the world.

I love to explore art and craft, pottery towns, local specialty food, fermentation tourism (sake, soy sauce, miso, mirin, etc.) , traditional festivals and hot spring, so I’d be especially delighted to show such things to my guests!

Important

I'm based in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, but I will be happy to guide you around Mie, Gifu, Takayama, Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, and Shiga if my transportation fee and hotel (if needed) are covered.

My available days may be irregular. So please check the calendar.

Japan

Hello! I’m Hiro, and I’m excited to share my love for Japan with travelers worldwide. I have a passion for anime and the peaceful beauty of the Japanese countryside. Born in Japan, I’ve also lived in the U.S. and India, giving me a broad cultural perspective. While I have a reserved and easygoing nature, I enjoy meeting new people and building genuine connections. I’m a car enthusiast and love exploring rural roads, though I’ve also worked in Japan’s bustling cities like Tokyo and Osaka. Whether you want a relaxed countryside tour or to discover hidden gems, I’ll help make your journey memorable. I look forward to guiding you on an unforgettable adventure in Japan!

Japan

Hello everyone. I am Tetsuji. I worked as a public servant in the local government for 35 years. I belonged to the department of Redevelopment, Town-Landscaping, Preserving historical areas and Architectural Guidance. (I have a national 1st-class architect license.) I devoted myself to revitalizing the city by making plans and improving infrastructure for citizens. Gifu is located in central Japan near Nagoya. As just being the crossroads of the West and the East, there are many unique attractions that are hard to discover in hectic big cities like Tokyo or Kyoto. I had a hand in restoring and preserving some of them throughout my career and want to introduce them to tourists from abroad. That’s why I became a guide-interpreter in Gifu. I also enjoyed traveling around the world. My favorite part of each trip was walking around the city and talking with local residents. Traveling has taught me lots of things during my lifetime. Now, I would like to help others have similar experience in Japan. Shall we enjoy fantastic journey in Gifu?

Japan

Hello, I am Michiko , the same name of Japanese ex-Empress. I am a government certified tour guide. I have lived in Nagoya ( located between Tokyo and Osaka) for 35 years since I got married. I worked for JAL as a flight attendant in my 20's. After retiring JAL, I have taught English and Mathematics to junior and senior high school students for 20 years. I love traveling very much both domestically and abroad and enjoy walking around each city and talking with local people so that I can find out the way how to they live and think about their life. It's quite a fun for me. I also love hiking and mountain climbing in spring, summer and autumn, and skiing in winter. In the countryside of Japan there still remain those farming and fishery villages where people have been rooted in their land and community, living the way handed down from generation to generation. You can also enjoy the original Japanese landscape there. Why don't you get out of the hustle and bustle of your busy life and have a rest rich in nature in the rural Japan enjoying beautiful scenery and local food. I'm waiting for you!

Japan

Hello everyone! Many thanks for checking out my profile. I'm originally from New Zealand but have spent my adult life here in Japan. The Nagoya area has been my home since the early nineties. I have witnessed the region's transformation from a sleepy industrial city to the vibrant metropolis of today. I would love the opportunity to tell you about some of my adventures and also a few of the outstanding people I've met. I spent many years practicing karate and have also developed a deep interest in Buddhism. I speak Japanese confidently. I'm new to GoWithGuide but have previous experience giving walking tours. To be able to introduce you to a few of my favourite Nagoya suburbs would be a treat. There are fascinating, historic temples as well as a stupa that purportedly contains a portion of the Buddha's ashes. Also, there are numerous tempting eateries and a few quirky shops. I prefer guiding guests around these less visited areas as you can get a feel for how the locals live. I look forward to meeting you soon.
