Takayama (Little Kyoto)
Takayama is called a little Kyoto. It is situated in a narrow and flat land surrounded by high mountains. Developed after a Kyoto-style town-planning scheme under the administration of Lord Takayama in 1600s, the town is divided into three areas such as Samurai houses, Buddhist Temples and merchants' quarters. Nagoya is the 4th largest city in Japan with a population of about 2.2 million. I would like to guide you Nagoya Castle, Osu Kannon Temple, old shopping streets, Oasis21 and Nagoya TV Tower. Nagoya Castle was first built by Tokugawa Ieyasu in 1612. Afterwards it was burnt down in 1945 and it was reconstructed in 1959. You can see Golden Shachi on the both ends of the top roof. Furthermore the Honmaru (the keep of a castle) reconstructed in 2013 is open to the public, too.

“Wonderful Takayama & Shinhotaka Ropeway experience ”
Our family of 3 really enjoyed our trip from Nagoya - Takayama -Shinhotaka Ropeway with Hiro San as our guide. He drove us around safe and smoothly. He is a very nice guy and is flexible to our schedule since we have our 10 year old son with us. Our son also had a good time with him.:) Hiro San speaks English fluently so it is easy for us to communicate with him. We have also tried the local restaurants which are like hidden spots only for locals and we love them, hida beefs are amazing! Overall experience is good and my son told me to give Hiro san 5 star rating! Thank you for taking care of our family, Hiro San.

Nagoya: car tour to Korankei valley, Toyota museum and more
“Top notch tour guide”
We had a wonderful experience with Serge. He contacted us the day before the tour to suggest that we should consider starting our tour at an earlier time due to potential traffic issues going to Korankei Gorge. We were pleased with his suggestion as we even had extra time to go to another lovely spot. Serge gave us three options for the second place to visit. We chose to go to Shikizakura to see the cherry blossoms and colourful autumn leaves. We were not disappointed. He even took candid shots of us. We met Serge as our private tour guide but parted as a friend. He is very passionate at what he does and knowledgeable as a guide. Tip: A great photographer too. He showed us the great Buddha, took us to visit Shinshū Ōtani-ha Nagoya-Betsuin Temple and we ended the day with a trip to Nagoya Castle.
