Hello everyone. I am Tetsuji. I worked as a public servant in the local government for 35 years. I belonged to the department of Redevelopment, Town-Landscaping, Preserving historical areas and Architectural Guidance. (I have a national 1st-class architect license.) I devoted myself to revitalizing the city by making plans and improving infrastructure for citizens. Gifu is located in central Japan near Nagoya. As just being the crossroads of the West and the East, there are many unique attractions that are hard to discover in hectic big cities like Tokyo or Kyoto. I had a hand in restoring and preserving some of them throughout my career and want to introduce them to tourists from abroad. That’s why I became a guide-interpreter in Gifu. I also enjoyed traveling around the world. My favorite part of each trip was walking around the city and talking with local residents. Traveling has taught me lots of things during my lifetime. Now, I would like to help others have similar experience in Japan. Shall we enjoy fantastic journey in Gifu?

Hello! I'm Nozomi. I was working in the tourism industry in Tokyo for 30+ years, then I moved to Nagoya and worked as college professor teaching tourism and English for 10 years, and just retired from teaching March 2023. Nagoya is the prefectural capital of Aichi and you may have an image that Nagoya is an industrial city but it’s not just that. Nagoya is the city with varied attractions. This region is the cradle of the three most famous Samurai lords from the 16th century and there are lots of interesting historic sites and stories. Nagoya is a member of UNESCO creative cities and it is certified as City of Design. It hosts annual World Cosplay Summit which is participated by fabulous Cosplayers from around the world. I love to explore art and craft, pottery towns, local specialty food, fermentation tourism (sake, soy sauce, miso, mirin, etc.) , traditional festivals and hot spring, so I’d be especially delighted to show such things to my guests!

Hi! My name is Fuhito, and I would love to be your tour guide in Japan! I will take you on wonderful trips around Japan, and I specialize in giving extraordinary experiences that you will never forget, from popular sightseeing spots to places off the beaten track. Let me share a little bit about myself. I was born and raised in Tokyo’s countryside, and I have spent 3.5 years abroad when I was a child. While I was abroad, I realized that I knew so little about my own country. Since then, I became much more interested in Japan and started to research a lot. The more I learned about Japan, the more I became attracted to Japanese history, culture, and customs, which made me want to live like an ideal Japanese person in some way. I first started out as a volunteer guide and interpreter in Tokyo, and I am now certified as a national licensed guide and interpreter, and have been traveling around Japan to learn more about my country, and to share it with my future guests and friends. As I introduce things about Japan, I found myself enjoying seeing my friends and guests becoming more interested in Japan. Since then, I have also sought out opportunities to get involved in many cultural exchange programs such as walking tours, promoting sister city relationships, taking care of delegations, and organizing homestay programs. I also love to take photos of beautiful scenery, people, and traditional things. I would be more than happy to take your photos for you while you are in Japan, so please feel free to ask! There are so many memories that you can remember from a single photo. Please reach out to me if you have any specific requests or even if you’re just looking for information. I would be delighted to take you to photogenic places to take some photos together! I always enjoy guiding and want to contribute to your wonderful trip with the very best of my hospitality. When you have a chance to travel around Japan, please feel free to ask me anything! And if you book me for a tour, we will surely have a great time together. I look forward to seeing you in Japan!

Hello, I am Michiko , the same name of Japanese ex-Empress. I am a government certified tour guide. I have lived in Nagoya ( located between Tokyo and Osaka) for 35 years since I got married. I worked for JAL as a flight attendant in my 20's. After retiring JAL, I have taught English and Mathematics to junior and senior high school students for 20 years. I love traveling very much both domestically and abroad and enjoy walking around each city and talking with local people so that I can find out the way how to they live and think about their life. It's quite a fun for me. I also love hiking and mountain climbing in spring, summer and autumn, and skiing in winter. In the countryside of Japan there still remain those farming and fishery villages where people have been rooted in their land and community, living the way handed down from generation to generation. You can also enjoy the original Japanese landscape there. Why don't you get out of the hustle and bustle of your busy life and have a rest rich in nature in the rural Japan enjoying beautiful scenery and local food. I'm waiting for you!

I am a government certificated tour guide. I love cooking, eating, meeting new people, discovering new culture, finding fresh seasonal dishes at hidden restaurants and bars! I especially am good at guiding locally popular eateries and restaurants cooking local/fresh ingredients (Fresh seafood, mountain vegetables, locally grown vegetables) into wonderful dishes either traditional Japanese cuisine or great Japanese ingredients with modern flair. I've traveled around the world twice and visited about 30 countries. When I think of my best memories in my past travel experiences, it's always meeting/ talking with the local people and experiencing new culture. Now, I'm in Japan! This is my time to prepare the wonderful experience to my guests! I'd love to show you around the famous places, as well as hidden gems or bunch of restaurants/bars/places loved by locals. I would be more than happy if I can help you to experience real Japanese life through my guide. I'd love you to have a great stay in Japan:-)

Best day in Japan

We have just finished an amazing day spent with Saki, and enjoying the home visit and sake brewery tour It has easily been out best day so far in Japan and doubt it well be beaten. Saki and her family are amazingly friendly, attentive and gave us many authentic experiences we could not have had elsewhere. This is time spent in her family home and we believe anyone that wants and respects an authentic experiences would enjoy this. The sake brewery tour was also a very genuine boutique style experience in a sake house run be two people in a fifth generation family company. Completely different to anything else we have come across on Japan.

Saki K.

Thank you for your very thoughtful review! We had such a great day with your visit, my family is very happy to be able to have you at our home! I appreciate a lot your interest in our culture and foods, seeing your reaction made us very happy. Please try to cook them again at home too! I hope we can see again in Australia or here at my house again!

Best Tour of Ghibli Park!

We give Saki our highest recommendation, she was a wonderful & friendly tour guide! She absolutely made Ghibli Park possible for us - she purchased the tickets, helped with scheduling our trains from Tokyo, and also navigated the park itself, which does not have much English signage. We would not have been able to see such a wonderful park if it were not for Saki's assistance, and my daughters and I are very grateful! We would not hesitate to recommend her for anyone looking to visit Nagoya or Ghibli Park!

Saki K.

Hi Erin, Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! It was great to meet you and be able to attend on your highlight event in Japan. Seeing you & your daughter's reactions for the park made me so happy:) I hope that day becomes a nice memory for you guys. Have a great time for the rest of your time in Japan, and please come back again when the new areas open!haha

Unforgettable experience in a very nice atmosphere!

Cooking experience: Nagoya We had a wonderful time with Saki, she speaks English as her mother tongue because her husband is American. She picked us up at our hotel in Nagoya to go to their home to cook, we were very excited because sharing a lunch with a Japanese family, entering their intimacy is getting to know the country and culture on another level. We also fell in love with her mother, who cooked with us, her little boy and her husband. Everyone cooked something! I cut the fish and vegetables (from Saki's garden) for the sashimi. My daughter Camilla cut the vegetables and the tofu for the miso soup that she made with Saki's mother. She also helped Saki with the chicken wings. My wife made the karaage under Saki's mother's directions. The table was set with all those plates and everything was delicious. After lunch we went to a typical Japanese room with "tatami" on the floor and the Buddhist altar. My wife and daughter made "ikebana" with beautiful flowers to decorate the room. There is a place in the room specially designed for the ikebana. We still had the desert to eat, so we put on a “Yukata": a summer kimono made of cotton. Dressing up is not as easy as you can imagine, there are many pieces to wear in a certain way. Saki’s mum and Saki helped us to dress the yukata properly. It was a remarkable moment almost a a ceremony to me. We took some beautiful pictures in the garden with Japanese fans and traditional flip-flops. We made matcha tea and ate delicious and colorful "mochi". It was nice to see how regular people lives in a Japanese house and to know how is living in Nagoya country side. Saki's mother speaks a little English, so we also communicated with her and connected a lot. It was an unforgettable experience, we were sad to leave them!

Wonderful time with Saki! The only guide you need in central Japan.

We are a family of 4 with 2 kids and booked Saki to arrange for a customised tour to Ghibli Park. Just from our interactions, it was clear Saki’s dedicated and very understanding of what we needed in terms of planning and itinerary . She turned so awesome. Our kids aged 9 and 4 also had a good time with Saki who is just as enthu and knowledgeable about Ghibli movies. What was more impressive was her consideration and sincerity. She would run ahead to check out the queues, get the lifts and find out what’s happening so we don’t waste any time in the park. We also booked Saki for another half day trip of Nagoya where we experienced a bit of the local life checked out the castle. She also gave the best recommendations - like when I told her I was hoping to eat the famed Nagoya chicken wings, she found a great spot just next to our hotel. Along the way, we really connected as friends. I was so touched that she got a little souvenir for my kids as a farewell gift. Hope we meet again, Saki! In the meantime I’m definitely recommending her to all my family and friends. You can entrust Saki with your trip.

Thank you again for your thoughtful words, I really hope we can see in the future!
