Japan

Hello, I'm Yuichi, an English tour guide in Hokuriku region. If you are thinking about traveling to historical places such as Kanazawa, Shirakawa-go and Takayama, I am willing to offer a tour. I can bring you to those popular destinations from my base, Toyama city. These are the examples of my tour: Kanazawa - Shirakawago - Takayama Takaoka - Gokayama - Shirakawago - Takayama Toyama - Tateyama Kurobe Alipne Route - Omachi (Nagano Pref.) During the tour I like to provide simple explanations about Japanese history, and small tips for using the Japanese language on your request. My interests are food, cooking, sake and wine as well as Japanese novels and movies. It would be possible to add those tastes to our tour including a visit to local wineries, movie scenes, etc... Finally, I will do my best to give you a pleasant stay. Looking forward to seeing you in Hokuriku!

For example; Visit to various Universities, Visit to narrow streets in Tokyo, Visit to feel Edo (Now and Then) My hobby is playing the guitar. I hope we are in peace through music. I am also interested in Art, History and cooking. Hello, I am Michiko , the same name of Japanese ex-Empress. I am a government certified tour guide. I have lived in Nagoya ( located between Tokyo and Osaka) for 35 years since I got married. I worked for JAL as a flight attendant in my 20's. After retiring JAL, I have taught English and Mathematics to junior and senior high school students for 20 years. I love traveling very much both domestically and abroad and enjoy walking around each city and talking with local people so that I can find out the way how to they live and think about their life. It's quite a fun for me. I also love hiking and mountain climbing in spring, summer and autumn, and skiing in winter. In the countryside of Japan there still remain those farming and fishery villages where people have been rooted in their land and community, living the way handed down from generation to generation. You can also enjoy the original Japanese landscape there. Why don't you get out of the hustle and bustle of your busy life and have a rest rich in nature in the rural Japan enjoying beautiful scenery and local food. I'm waiting for you!

Japan

Hi lovely travelers, I'm Serge, originally from the Netherlands, and Japan has been my home for over three decades now. What brought me here initially was love, and that love has kept me rooted in this beautiful country ever since. Along the way, I discovered another love: Japan itself. Following my stint as a radio jockey and TV presenter, where I co-hosted a dedicated program for the Nagoya Grampus soccer team, I transitioned to a behind-the-scenes role as a media fixer for international media outlets. Though my job as media fixer, I've been traveling and working throughout all of Japan, exploring unique places and meeting lots of very interesting people. I would love to share and make you, my dear traveler, experience these places as well. Visiting and getting a tour at Japan's oldest traditional vinegar maker, or experience and taste at a traditional "katsuo bushi" bonito flake maker, or do you prefer to visit some old local shrines or temples. with no-one around you, except for the crickets and trees. Maybe you just want a friend to bring you to your desired locations and interpret and be at your beck and call 24 hours (like I do for the media). If you're looking for flexibility (time, places. transport), you won't find a better match than me. My work as a fixer taught me a valuable lesson: the key to traveling together successfully, lies in a blend of humor, professionalism, and adaptability.

Day Trips from Nagoya

Nagoya Tour Reviews

Best Tour Guide for Nagoya!

We had an indescribably great day with Noel away from the typical tourist attractions. He showed us the great Buddha, took us to visit Shinshū Ōtani-ha Nagoya-Betsuin Temple and we ended the day with a trip to Nagoya Castle. We would highly recommend Noel because he did a great job organizing everything and we would spend another day with him anytime. He gave us so much historical information, it was very informative and exciting!

Nina R.

Thank you so much. I very much enjoyed showing off a few of my favourite places here in Nagoya. I'm sure that you'll love the remainder of your travels around Japan. Meeting you and your family was fantastic and I greatly appreciate you helping me improve my German vocabulary. Safe journeys.

Fantastic sumo experience with Saki!

This sumo experience has been a highlight of our almost 3 week trip in Japan. Saki was so helpful in picking tickets, setting up a meeting time, and explaining all of the interesting and amazing details that makes sumo so interesting. We spent about five hours and they just flew by, my teenage boys sat with Saki and asked her questions and had fun with her, too. She’s such a nice person, you will really enjoy your time with her. She also gave us some dining suggestions, offered to walk us around Nagoya Castle, and helped set up a car to Ghibli Park. She knows Nagoya and Kyoto inside and out, I can’t recommend her enough! So easy to communicate with her and so nice to spend time with her.

Mary P.
