Hello, I'm Yuichi, an English tour guide in Hokuriku region.

from my base, Toyama city.

During the tour I like to provide simple explanations about Japanese history,
and small tips for using the Japanese language on your request.
My interests are food, cooking, sake and wine
as well as Japanese novels and movies.
It would be possible to add those tastes to our tour
including a visit to local wineries, movie scenes, etc...
Finally, I will do my best to give you a pleasant stay.

Takayama / Shirakawago & Gokayama - Full day tour from Kanazawa
This guided tour will bring guests to one/some of traditional destinations in Hokuriku and Hida region which cover the traditional streets, old government office building in Takayama and UNESCO's gassho-zukuri (A-shaped) houses in Shirakawago/Gokayama. Takayama 4 Hour Town Walk Tour
Let's walk one of the most popular traditional town in Central Japan. Your guide will pick you up at the reception of your hotel and walk with you throughout the old town of Takayama city. There are many traditional Japanese architectures and cultural museums in Takayama. You can also enjoy talking with local store clerks via your guide's translation. Canal Cruise from Kansui Park to Historic District in TOYAMA
Just 1 hour cruise will bring you from the modern looking park to the historic site of Iwase town, as well as the National Important Cultural Property, Nakajima lock, which is the highlight of the cruise and lets you feel the dynamism of the moving water elevator. At lunch, you can enjoy the local specialties such as sashimi, udon (wheat noodles) or tempura.

Experience Tour -Toyama's Masuzushi Museum
A sushi-lover cannot miss the opportunity to visit this facility while staying in Toyama. Masuzushi is one of oshizushi (pressed sushi) well-known as the best local food in the city. In the museum, you can see the manufacturing process of masuzushi, learn how to make it and eat it. The museum also shows you the nationwide collection of the local bento boxes.

I live in Takaoka city in Toyama area, right next to Kanazawa area. I know the Hokuriku region has lots of attractive points, so I live in here. But these area are still developing area for sightseeing because it is a little difficult to see around by yourselves especially when you come for the first time.
