I live in Takaoka city in Toyama area, right next to Kanazawa area. I know the Hokuriku region has lots of attractive points, so I live in here. But these area are still developing area for sightseeing because it is a little difficult to see around by yourselves especially when you come for the first time. Hello, my name is Shoten, please call me Sho. I was born in a local area in Toyama prefecture. I majored in civil engineering at a college and am interested in historical infrastructures. After graduation, I continued to study English at a local English circle. In international activities, I also guided foreign people around Toyama Prefecture, Ishikawa Prefecture, and Gifu Prefecture. After retirement, I work as a guide interpreter and a translator. The Hokuriku region has many sightseeing spots, including beautiful landscapes like Kenrokuen Garden and Tateyama, tasty food like traditional Kaga dishes and fresh seafood from Toyama Bay, and traditional crafts like Takaoka copperware and Inami woodcarving. Takaoka make-a-wish road
Takaoka was established as a castle town made by a feudal lord, Maeda. The castle was originally existed at the central part of the town. Now there is a large park named "Old castle park". Including the park and two more important places are located on the same street. It is called "Negaimichi" meaning "Make-a-wish road". In the tour, we are going to collect three red ink stamps on wood planks at three places. After collecting, we will write our wishes on them.

“Awesome Private tour guide!”
I requested a personalized tour to see all the places from the movie “wolf children ame & yuki” It was lovely to see all the sights. He took some pictures for me and then showed me some really cool places around Toyama too! The Mountain View was incredible and so was the ocean! (The weather just happened to be super clear without a cloud in the sky perhaps naoto is a lucky tour guide haha!)

“Tateyama Alpine Route”
We had a really good tour arranged by Yuta. We had some practical challenges in connection with our trip along the Tateyama Alpine route.
