Hello! Thank you for considering me as your guide. My name is Naoto, and I'm a licensed local guide interpreter. I was born in Kurobe, Toyama and grew up in Toyama and other Hokuriku region, Kanazawa and Takayama before living and working overseas. My global experience in other countries and several decades of life in Tokyo made me realize that the Toyama and Kanazawa area offers the most authentic, worthwhile Japan—the kind international travelers truly desire when visiting Japan. I specialize in helping you go beyond the typical tourist path, immersing you in Toyama, Kanazawa and its surrounding areas to reveal the pristine culture and natural beauty that await in this hidden gem. Whether your interests lie in history, architecture, arts and crafts, lively festivals, unique food culture, or nature watching (including music, manga, anime and pop culture), I've got you covered. I particularly enjoy uncovering local treasures, like a secluded restaurant tucked away in the mountains near a temple. And for those who love the outdoors, I'd be delighted to organize a hiking or fishing trip to showcase Toyama's natural beauty. Since every tour can be customized according to your interests and needs, I will personally help you have a one-of-a-kind experience here in the Toyama and Kanazawa area. Please contact me to start planning your future trip!

Keiichi S.
Hello! My name is Keiichi. Please call me Kei. I was born and raised in Joetsu City, located in the southern part of Niigata prefecture. Joetsu was the former capital city of Echigo Province until the mid 19th century. It has a lot of historic sites and scenic spots, and most of all good people. I love my city very much. I worked for the Joetsu City office for over thirty years. During my time there, I was in charge of international relations for about ten years. After retiring from the office, I began working as a licensed tour guide. I am very excited to introduce my city to people all over the world.

Hello, my name is Shoten, please call me Sho. I was born in a local area in Toyama prefecture. I majored in civil engineering at a college and am interested in historical infrastructures. After graduation, I continued to study English at a local English circle. In international activities, I also guided foreign people around Toyama Prefecture, Ishikawa Prefecture, and Gifu Prefecture. After retirement, I work as a guide interpreter and a translator. The Hokuriku region has many sightseeing spots, including beautiful landscapes like Kenrokuen Garden and Tateyama, tasty food like traditional Kaga dishes and fresh seafood from Toyama Bay, and traditional crafts like Takaoka copperware and Inami woodcarving. I introduce these spots and historical infra tourism, such as the Kurobe dam and industrial tourism. I look forward to welcoming you to the Hokuriku region.

Hello, I'm Yuichi, an English tour guide in Hokuriku region. If you are thinking about traveling to historical places such as Kanazawa, Shirakawa-go and Takayama, I am willing to offer a tour. I can bring you to those popular destinations from my base, Toyama city. These are the examples of my tour: Kanazawa - Shirakawago - Takayama Takaoka - Gokayama - Shirakawago - Takayama Toyama - Tateyama Kurobe Alipne Route - Omachi (Nagano Pref.) During the tour I like to provide simple explanations about Japanese history, and small tips for using the Japanese language on your request. My interests are food, cooking, sake and wine as well as Japanese novels and movies. It would be possible to add those tastes to our tour including a visit to local wineries, movie scenes, etc... Finally, I will do my best to give you a pleasant stay. Looking forward to seeing you in Hokuriku!

My interests include art, architecture, food, sake, wine, and sustainability. In the past, I had the opportunity to visit destinations around the world. My passion for traveling and experiencing other cultures helped me recognize the beauty in my own culture, and inspired me to become a tour guide. I’m a fun, energetic, and passionate guide who’s ready to show you an unforgettable time in Japan, whatever your interests may be! Hida is a beautiful region tucked away in the Northern Alps, and its location helped preserve Takayama’s old town constructed by local master carpenters. On your tour, I’ll give you tips on what you should look for to appreciate traditional Japanese architecture. If you’re a sake lover, Hida is the place for you because the cold climate makes it suitable for brewing quality sake. I’m a licensed Sake Sommelier, and I’d love to take you to the breweries in town and give you some recommendations. I’ve also been trained to host art tours. If you’re interested in contemporary Japanese art, I recommend visiting Kanazawa, where you can find inspirational creativity in every corner! My goal is to help you discover the authentic Japanese way of life while feeling comfortable like a local rather than standing out like a tourist. Please let me know what kind of experience you’re looking for, and I will happily tailor a unique experience just for you. Fun facts about me! I was sponsored to travel around the world twice I was a torch runner in the 1998 Nagano Olympics I grew up in nature, eating wild plants and seeing many wild animals

“Awesome Private tour guide!”
I requested a personalized tour to see all the places from the movie “wolf children ame & yuki” It was lovely to see all the sights. He took some pictures for me and then showed me some really cool places around Toyama too! The Mountain View was incredible and so was the ocean! (The weather just happened to be super clear without a cloud in the sky perhaps naoto is a lucky tour guide haha!)

Thank you very much for such a wonderful review on my guiding. It was actually one of the best days for my guiding too. We had a perfect weather and also the schedule was very smooth. We could see more than what you actually wanted to see. Above all I was very happy that your dream to visit Wolf Children house came true after all. You must have loved Toyama very much. So please visit here again for your third trip. Have a great time for the rest of the trip in Japan. Stay in touch. Naoto

“Tateyama Alpine Route”
We had a really good tour arranged by Yuta. We had some practical challenges in connection with our trip along the Tateyama Alpine route. Yuta helped us arrange the tour so it was a really good experience. During the trip, Yuta told us many interesting things about Japan, including about daily life and Japanese culture. We thank you for an exciting and well-arranged tour.

Very enjoyable day. Sho, as he likes to be called, was simply fantastic. He is both knowledgeable and more importantly such a nice person. Highly recommended.

Thank you so much for your warm review. I also enjoyed today's tour very much because your family are very nice. We are very lucky to see the water elevator at Nakajima lock on the Fugan Canal. I learned the history of Takaoka city this time. Please come here again if you have a chance. From your guide, Sho
