Takaoka light hiking in Mt. Futagami
Mt. Futagami is located at the west of Toyama area. It is a 274m high mountain. There is abundant nature in the mountain. It is familiar with locals. People from the region often walk, run, and hike around the mountain for having their relaxing time. Also, there are some attractive sites like a huge statue of goddess of mercy, observatory which can look over the scenery of the town and the sea, and a huge bell.

Takaoka Yamacho-suji street & Kanayamachi old town
Takaoka city was made 400 years ago. Kanayamachi old town is known as the birthplace of Takaoka copperware, which is one of traditional crafts in Toyama. Yamacho district is the general term of which consists of 10 towns. Yamachosuji street is one of streets of Yamacho district. Guests can appreciate the atmosphere of the town with traditional houses. Through the tour, guests can know the history of Takaoka.

Takoyaki is one of typical Japanese cuisines, which are small fried balls made from flour. We will make small fried balls with Takoyaki machine and put octopus into them normally. In the tour, guests can make Takoyaki being instructed by a guide. Before making them, we will go to a grocery shop with a guide and choose what guests like to put into Takoyaki. When it is ready, the guide show you how to make Takoyaki, then try to make them by yourselves!

“An amazing day in Toyama”
Yoji was the absolute best guide. My sister and I had a fabulous day with him. He is very well educated in the United States so has an excellent mastery of the English language. He was also extremely flexible when we mentioned things we wanted to do and planned the perfect day for us according to our interests. He suggested some excellent stops to see beautiful wood carving we had not thought to see and found a great place for us to have a fabulous Japanese lunch. We enjoyed talking with Yogi about his beautiful young family and his life in Japan. I just wish we had more days that we could have spent with him.
