About Tour Guide Tak Y.
Hi, my name is Tak.
I have seen travelers.
And, I found they got tired of typical sightseeing spots, like crowded temples and shrines.
There must be spots that fit your feelings and interests.
Then, I’d like to propose.
Why don’t you start a unique and original tour, only your heart goes?
.
I had guided
Pokemon tour
Ghost story tour
Inari Shrines tour
Live house tour
Bento (lunchbox) tour
Textile tour
Papermaking tour
I’ll search the site you want to see and create your unique itinerary.
First, could you give your message about things you want to do and see in Japan?
Let’s make a great time you can never forget.
Thank you so much.

I live in SHITAMACHI, Tokyo, or an old residential town near ASAKUSA and UENO. My hobby is strolling. I walk around this area almost every day. I know even the smallest path, big and small museums, workshops of artisans, an impressive view of a gigantic tree, a beer bar in an impressive old house, unique souvenir shops, cats living in Yanaka, and many, many other attractive spots in this area.
You can expect a day that no one reads about in guidebooks.
So!
I hope you name me the navigator for your fantastic memory-making tour!!!!
I’m not so young, but I still love rock’n roll music. If you want to enjoy live music in Tokyo, I can also arrange the venue and occasion to suit your mood and boom.

“Fabulous walk around Asakusa”
Tak was an amazing guide! We really enjoyed learning more about the area as we explored the neighbourhood. In addition to being a great guide on the day, Tak was very helpful in the weeks leading up to our trip. Many thanks Tak!

Asakusa was unusually crowded on the day you visited, likely because it was the day after the festival. The temperature was also high for May. I was a little worried that you might not have fully enjoyed yourself and felt too exhausted. After reading your review, I am so relieved and happy to know you had a wonderful time. Here in the East Side of Tokyo - the traditional "shitamachi" area - there are still many hidden gems where you can enjoy yourself without the stress of big crowds. I truly hope you will visit Tokyo again, and I look forward to welcoming you back for a more relaxing experience next time. Thank you so much for everything. I hope to see you again soon! Tak

“Very friendly, great communication and great service ”
We had a wonderful stress free time touring the Tokyo with Tak over 4 days. He created a fantastic itinerary that worked for us and our 20 year old daughter and boyfriend. He was quick to change plans as needed and always happy to answer our many questions. Would absolutely book a tour with him again.

Getting a new challenge is always appreciated for a guide like me. I search online, visit places, and imagine how I can explain things well. Through this process, I find new, wonderful places to show to future guests as well. These four days with your family gave me so many great experiences. Showing Ueno and Yanaka from a cultural lens, finding a shop for an authentic Shinobue flute, bar-hopping with small surprises, and on the last day, taking you to Nakano Broadway to fully satisfy your daughter and her boyfriend's GEEK hearts. I had some trial and error, and sometimes I was secretly sweating with nervousness! lol But in the end, seeing your happy faces made all my preparation worth it. Please visit Tokyo again, and get in touch with me. Next time, the beer is on me!

“Great tour!”
Tak took us to the KK Garden and Ueno Park. He recommended skipping Asakusa to focus on the other two as we were a little short on time. That was a good call! We had a wonderful tour with him of two beautiful locations and then he saw us all the way to our afternoon group tour to make sure we got there in time. That was, again, a good call as we likely would have gotten lost! A true professional!

Thank you for a wonderful day. Koishikawa Korakuen is famous for its beautiful garden, but its various parts reflect hundreds of years of history and culture dating back to the Edo period. Therefore, it is a place that makes it very difficult for guides. I always struggle and try many different ways to explain it, but if its charm was conveyed to you, I would be truly happy. When you both visit Japan again, please contact me. I'll treat you to a beer if you like it.

Koichiro Y.
Hello! I’m Koichiro. Please call me “Yamasan”. It derives from my family name and my friends call me so. I worked for a machinery company as a project manager and engineer for mechanical and electrical construction projects both domestic and overseas for over 35 years. I recall my first overseas project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia when I was 26, and the second was in Singapore. I visited many countries for surveys, meetings, commissioning, project handing over, and so on. In 2014 at the age of 60, I decided to retire from the company and live the expected further 30 years of life with a new career and experiences. I, then, studied translation and guide interpretation. I passed the national examination for licensed guides (English) in 2015 and registered with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government in February 2016. Until now, I have been guiding many beautiful guests mainly to popular sightseeing spots such as Asakusa, Tsukiji, Omote-Sando, Meiji Jingu Shrine, and Tokyo Skytree, and also cultural experiences of Origami making, Furoshiki wrapping, and Sushi cooking. I am happy that I can freely arrange a customized tour together with you, or can propose my tours to you. I want to show you some parts of daily Tokyo life and introduce you to Bunkyo City which is located in the heart of Tokyo, just north of Chiyoda City where the Imperial Palace and Tokyo Station are. The city is Tokyo’s typical residential and academic area where I was born, grew up, and live a happy life now. Now, we can tour around the world but have not yet overcome COVID-19 completely. Recently, the number of passengers wearing masks on public transportation in Tokyo reduced to some 25% but we should mind about it still. Please carry your mask to wear it where or when necessary (December 2024, Yamasan).

Being a former student and staff member of the University of Tokyo, I have a natural ability to communicate with people from all corners of the world. Regardless of whether you prefer to speak English, French, or Globish with me ! I have practiced Aikido, Iaido (Katana), and Kyudo (Bow) martial arts, and I have also worked on the restoration of Japanese armor. Therefore, I am well-versed in the art of war in ancient Japan. But my passion for history goes further, and during my guided tours, I will share various anecdotes that will bring ancient Japan to life for you ! I'm also a huge fan of old Japanese video games, especially RPGs, so if you want a true otaku experience, follow me to Nakano Broadway and Akihabara! If you're interested in arranging a tour that's tailored to your preferences, feel free to send me a message !

I’m so excited to have a chance to show you around my favorite spots in Kanagawa prefecture. I was born in Kanagawa. I spent my whole school life, including university, here in Kanagawa. I worked as a high school English teacher here for more than 40 years. I love Kanagawa so much. We have many interesting tourist spots, like Hakone, Kamakura, Enoshima and Yokohama. I got my tour guide license in English in 2009. I am still an English teacher. To give an interesting and impressive lesson to young high school students, I’ve learnt and gathered many kinds of information. I also have a license to teach social studies, so I have a wide range of knowledge about Japanese culture and history. I’m sure to provide you an interesting tour.
