Meeting Point
The Ritz
- Meet your local guide outside the Ritz hotel (W1J 9BR). Next to two red telephone boxes. Nearest underground station is Green Park.
Buckingham Palace
Your tour begins with a stroll through royal Green Park to Buckingham Palace - official residence of the King! Here, your guide will tell stories of the palace's long history.
(Pssst....want to see the famous Changing of the Guard ceremony? This is your chance! Book the 10am start time on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, or any available day in June & July)
The Mall
We then walk up The Mall, past Clarence House (where Charles & Camilla often stay when they are in London) & catch a glimpse of St James Palace. We will stop along the way to admire the various statues, historic buildings & monuments.
Trafalgar Square
You'll visit Westminster's most famous public square, built to commemorate the Battle of Trafalgar and the site of many famous British gatherings. See Nelson's Column and many other statues and historic buildings around the square.
Whitehall
Continue towards the political heart of London, passing Downing Street and the London Eye along the way.
Parliament Square & Houses of Parliament
See famous statues including Winston Churchill in this historic square, and admire the impressive Houses of Parliament (Palace of Westminster) and Big Ben!
Westminster Abbey
Next, you'll approach the iconic Westminster Abbey, where many Royal weddings, funerals, and coronations have taken place over centuries. Your guide will tell you stories of the abbey's past and the famous people buried here.
Make your way to Kew Gardens
You will say goodbye to your guide near Westminster Abbey, and they will give you directions to get to Kew Gardens - easily reached by public transport.
Explore Kew Gardens
With included tickets, you'll enter the famous Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew - a UNESCO World Heritage site with over 50,000 living plants! These vast gardens are a wonderful place to spend an afternoon, with many different areas to explore as well as kids' gardens, scientific exhibitions and a selection of good places to eat and drink.
