We will meet in your hotel or another accommodation and we will take a taxi or private transportation to the Strahov Monastery.
First, we'll visit Strahov Monastery to admire the incredible view of the city. We will explore the monastery complex from the 13th century. Let's admire the Pohořelec square.
We are going to continue our stroll with a view of the famous Loreto, a Catholic pilgrimage site, best known for the Santa Casa (The Holy House). I will tell you more about the Cernin Palace, the largest of the baroque palaces of Prague.
Then, we will walk through the Prague Castle - the focal point of Czech history, where kings and rulers have shaped the nation's legacy for hundreds of years. Sit back and listen to countless legendary stories. If you wish we can purchase a ticket to enter the most famous places in the Castle. (St. Vitus Cathedral, Basilica of St. George, Old Royal Palace, and Golden Lane).
We can sit down and enjoy a lunch break. I will be pleased to recommend different restaurants in advance so you can choose the one you like the most.
Let's continue our adventure by exploring the romantic neighborhood of Lesser Town. Area of palaces and noble homes. We will cross the famous Charles Bridge and I will tell you about its history, statues and the famous legend about St. John of Nepomuk.
Let's tour Prague's Old Town Square and discover the historical treasures of Czech Republic's capital. Walk with me through the old cobblestone square and learn about the architecture, history, and cultural heritage of this ancient site. You will learn about the Prague Astronomical Clock - Orloj, the third oldest astronomical clock in the world, as well as the Gothic Church of Our Lady before Tyn. Let's marvel at the Baroque St. Nicholas Church and what once was King Charles' residence. I will tell you about the Jan Hus statue, and why it occupies such a central location in the square, last but not least we will admire the Marian column, the newest addition to the square.
Discover the Jewish Ghetto, a place full of history, mysticism, and ancient architecture. Let's admirethe Old-New Synagogue, a magnificent building from the beginning of the 13th century. I will tell you the story of the Pinkas Synagogue, a memorial of Shoah victims with more than 78000 names written on it. You will learn about the earliest history of the Jews in Bohemia and the local life today.
Our last stop will be the New Town which is not really a new district of Prague. We will talk more about the recent history of the Czech Republic, especially the end of communism, the Velvet revolution or the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968.
