The Royal Palace Tour

A guided tour through one of the most famous and oldest buildings in Saxonys capital. See the treasuries of the "Green Vault" a unique collection of goldsmith's art and jewellery. Lern something about historic weapons from the ottomans empire and europe in the "Turkish Chamber" and the amory. In total you will see the highlights of about seven different collection situated in a historic architechture.

We will welcome you at the information desk in the central castle yard. After some general words about the architecture and history of the palace, we proceed via the so called "english staircase" to the next level to have a look into the exhibition "Power and Fashion". Highlights here are the old and original textiles from the 16th century. Afterwards we will continue through the "gallery of dukes", a collection of paintings with Saxon rulers, to the "new green vault". The famous treasury is the highlight of the tour. Finally we guide you to the 2. level of the building. Then main focus here are the armory with unique pieces from Europe and the Ottomans empire. The tour will end at the so called "parade apartments" a sequence of rooms in a very french style inspired by Versailles.
