Are you ready to focus on Venice extraordinary artistic heritage? In the past times San Marco was the political and religious centre of Venice as well as the "entrance of honor" to the city. The Republic wanted the "Square" to be as beautiful as possible to impress foreigners and represent the achievements of its enlightened government. With this tour I'll lead you on a journey into the past to understand the reasons that made Venice for centuries the economic power of the Old Continent.

St Mark's Square at the Correr Museum. This building is located at one end of the square, right opposite the basilica. It is marked by a big bordeau sign: that's where we are meeting
The first part of the tour will be an introduction to the monuments surrounding the area
We'll visit the church famous for its golden mosaics. We'll see the amazing main altar, the majestic sculpture of the four horses and enjoy the view from the terrace.
Let's visit the old Parliament and its highly decorated halls where administrative, political and legislative powers were retained. Through the Bridge of Sights we'll enter the Prisons.

Ciao! I'm Isabella. Welcome to my GoWithGuide page!
I was born in the old town of Padua in 1965 but I've lived in Venice for over 30 years. I moved here to attend college and then settled down.
After graduation in Anglo American literature I did different jobs: at the Biennale del Cinema (Venice Movie Festival), in museums, and for a few years I tought, too. In 1998 I approached tourism and got the license to work as tourist assistant. A few years later I became a guide.
I love food and cooking is my great passion, that's why I do enogastronomic tours, too.
After many years of touring I'm still emotional about my town. I'm very happy when I see people enjoying the time together and being enchanted by Venice never ending beauty!
Looking forward meeting you here!
“Introduction to Venice”
We had a wonderful three hour walk through Venice with Isabella. She gave an excellent overview of the history of the city. Her introduction was filled with endless and wonderful stories regarding the food, the history, the culture, the architecture, the politics, and the joys and difficulties of living in perhaps the most beautiful city ever built. She personalized our tour including a few specific and very personal interests. She introduced us to wonderful Venetian products with which we were not familiar, and pointed out several museums which we were not to miss. Overall, our visit was tremendously enhanced by this tour. Her English was wonderful. We enjoyed the time we spent with her, and when we return to northern Italy will likely ask her for future guidance. I honestly think she provided the best private tour I have ever experienced.
