Not a typical architecture tour—understand modern Korea, not just admire iconic buildings.

Visit DDP by Zaha Hadid, Leeum Museum by Mario Botta, Jean Nouvel and Rem Koolhaas, and Ewha Campus Complex by Dominique Perrault.

Through architecture, discover how Korea transformed from a war-torn nation into one of the world's most innovative societies. Explore the stories behind architecture, technology, culture and urban development while gaining deeper insights into contemporary Korea.

09:30 AM

Meeting Point

Your hotel or your residence in Seoul

10:00 AM

DDP (Dongdaemun Design Plaza)

Designed by Zaha Hadid, DDP is one of Seoul’s most distinctive contemporary landmarks. We explore its fluid geometry, public spaces and its role in Seoul’s transformation into a global design city.

11:40 AM

ECC (Ewha Campus Complex)

Can a landmark building become almost invisible?

Designed by Dominique Perrault, ECC integrates architecture and landscape in a dramatic sunken campus space. We look at how circulation, openness and topography shape the experience of the building.

02:30 PM

Leeum Museum

What happens when three world-renowned architects interpret the same place in different ways?

Leeum brings together architecture by Mario Botta, Jean Nouvel and Rem Koolhaas/OMA. It offers a rare opportunity to compare three very different approaches to space, material and museum design in one location.

04:00 PM

Seoul City Hall

The contemporary City Hall stands beside the preserved former city hall, creating a striking dialogue between old and new Seoul. It is a useful final stop for understanding how the city negotiates modernization and continuity.

About Tour Guide Andy P.

[Expert Historian]

Not a typical guide—not just visit.

I connect history and industry into one structured story.

With 25+ years in Korean conglomerates, global experience in Southeast Asia, and the highest-level Korean History Certification, I offer insights beyond typical tours.

■ Why Choose My Tour?

• Intellectual Depth:

I don't just list dates; I share stories. With an MBA and over 25 years of corporate experience, I provide a nuanced explanation of how Korea’s past has shaped its modern society and economy.

• Global Perspective & Empathy:

With about 10 years of experience as an expatriate in Indonesia and Vietnam, and having explored more than 16 countries (including the UK, USA, and Italy—such as Assisi and Rome), I deeply resonate with the perspectives of international travelers. Whether you're a history enthusiast or a casual explorer, I naturally bridge cultural gaps through engaging storytelling.

■ My Philosophy

A great tour is a balance of insight, laughter, and genuine connection. I use carefully prepared laminated insight cards to make complex history clear and engaging, but my greatest joy is helping guests experience Korea in a meaningful and memorable way.

Beyond Seoul, I also specialize in multi-day journeys to Gyeongju, Andong, and Busan.

Let’s discover the real Korea together.

Sincerely,

Andy

Excellent introduction to Korea, its past, its present and its challenges

I had the chance of following Andy for 2 days: we went to the museum where he gave me a comprehensive briefing on Korea's past. We then drove to the Royal Palace and to the Bukchon Village. While I was comfortably seated in his car, he spoke about Korea's present and, the next day, when we visited the DMZ, he spoke about the war and the challenges Korea is facing today. He even prepared a brochure with the most relevant facts to look up and to refer to. I had an issue with my cellphone's internet connection and Andy was very helpful in calming me down and in trying to find a solution.

A great tour with Andy!

Andy provided an enjoyable and informative tour. His itinerary flowed well, and provided a look at a variety of interesting neighborhoods in Seoul that all had their own distinct character. His deep knowledge of Korean history added so much to the day. Andy also went above and beyond in helping with a little bit of shopping at the end of the tour. Thank you Andy for a great day!

Thank you very much for your thoughtful review. I’m glad you enjoyed exploring the different neighborhoods and their unique character. It was a pleasure sharing Korea’s history with you, and I’m especially happy that the day felt both informative and well-paced. Wishing you a wonderful rest of your journey!

Fascinating visit to the DMZ with Andy

Four of us were on a cruise ship docked at Incheon and organised the day trip to the DMZ on gowithguide several months in advance. Andy was waiting in the cruise ship terminal when we disembarked and had his luxurious people carrier parked close by. After a short drive, we arrived at the DMZ, visited tunnel number 3, the observation tower and the Gloucester Regiment memorial. Andy was good company, informative and with a good sense of humour. He got us back to the dock in plenty time for our departure and we would certainly recommend him to anyone planning a visit to the Seoul or Incheon area.

Thank you very much for your kind review! It was a real pleasure meeting you and your group during your cruise stop in Incheon and sharing the DMZ with you. I’m very glad everything worked smoothly with the ship schedule and that you were able to experience the Third Tunnel, the observatory and the Gloucester Regiment memorial. Your group was wonderful company, and I truly enjoyed our conversations throughout the day. Thank you again for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review. Andy
