Hello, this is Sachi! I’m so excited to welcome you to Hiroshima.

While the Peace Memorial Park and Miyajima are wonderful places, I also love taking my guests into the quiet, cozy corners of our city. I want to show you the "everyday Japan" that you won't find in guidebooks—visiting small, lovely local shops and meeting the friendly people who live and work here. I'd love to share the stories of how our resilient city was rebuilt and the beautiful traditions that are still alive today.

My name is Miyu. I have been a Nationally Licensed Guide Interpreter since 2009. I began my career as a tourist guide last year after working as a public servant for nearly four decades. I worked in the Atomic Bomb Survivors Support Division for 12 years until I retired from the local government, and I continue to interact with Hibakusha. Therefore, I have a lot of knowledge about A-bomb survivors, the reconstruction of Hiroshima, and the effects of radiation on the human body, which I can correctly convey to inbound visitors. I have experience in tea ceremonies and calligraphy and am especially good at guiding visitors through tea ceremony experiences. I love to watch baseball games, so I enjoy talking about them with guests from countries where they are popular. I am a volunteer medical interpreter and can respond to visitors' sudden health problems.

Hi, I'm Kahori, a nationally licensed guide interpreter, and have just started working with GoWithGuide! I’m delighted to show people around this area. For the past almost 10 years, I have mainly guided foreign medical professionals around Hiroshima City and Miyajima, gaining a deep understanding of the effects of radiation and the support for A-bomb survivors. Hiroshima is a city of rivers and the sea. Along the rivers Cherry trees line, and the calm Seto Inland Sea, dotted with islands, creates a stunning landscape. Also, the sea has many islands called "art islands" which have fantastic arts relating to the art festival "Setoushi Triennale". In addition to our two World Heritage Sites, this area is rich in attractive resources. I hope many of you will come and experience this fascinating land. Personally, I am very passionate about modern art and enjoy sports like stand-up paddle boarding (SUP) on our rivers. I believe that travel is about more than visiting famous places—it's about meeting people, sharing stories, and creating connections that stay with us long after the journey ends. That's why I love being a guide. Through this work, I've had the privilege of meeting wonderful people from all over the world, and every tour feels like the beginning of a new friendship. My family and I live in a 200-year-old traditional farmhouse in the peaceful countryside, where generations before us have grown rice and cared for the land. As a working rice farmer, I enjoy sharing not only Japan's iconic sights, but also the everyday traditions, values, and way of life that many visitors never have the chance to experience. I began learning English at the age of 40 because I wanted to connect with people beyond Japan. Although I haven't traveled overseas very much, welcoming guests into my world has shown me that kindness, curiosity, and laughter can bridge any cultural difference. Whether we're exploring Hiroshima's World Heritage Sites or spending time in the countryside, my hope is that you'll leave with more than beautiful photographs.
