About Tour Guide Keiko K.

Hello, welcome to my profile! I'm Keiko (Kay). As a national certified guide deeply passionate about the rich history, culture, and natural beauty of this area, I am eager to share these experiences with you. With over 16 years of experience living abroad, mostly in Europe, I've had the privilege of immersing myself in diverse cultures and meeting incredible people from around the world. I'm sociable, outgoing and love making new connections wherever I go.

I'm also very active, enjoying sports like badminton, biking, jogging, and dancing, especially zumba and salsa. On top of that, I've been playing the piano for over *xx years, a passion that brings balance to my life. (The reason XX is simply because I hesitate to disclose my age...)

Health and nutrition are important to me, as is the same to everyone, and I love exploring new ways to stay healthy and enjoy good food!

Our itinerary will take us through some of the most iconic landmarks, as well as a few hidden gems that only locals know about. Whether you’re interested in exploring ancient architecture, indulging in the local cuisine, or learning about the fascinating history that has shaped this place, I am here to tailor the tour to your interests.

Would I be a good fit for your company here in Hiroshima?

Warm regards,

Keiko(Kay)

Hiroshima History and Highlights tour

Kay has a wealth of knowledge about Japanese history and Hiroshima. We met Kay at our hotel and headed straight to Shukkeien Park. She pointed out elements that we would have otherwise missed and I appreciated the cultural reverence towards nature. With Kay’s guidance, we were given the rare opportunity to wear the silk robes of noblemen for a photo. We then walked to Hiroshima castle, followed by the Peace Park and museum. The museum was harrowing but provides an important insight into the immediate and ongoing effects of the A bomb. Kay was warm, informative and enthusiastic and it made our short time in Hiroshima feel so much more impactful. Thank you Kay.

Thank you so much for writing a review right after today’s tour — I truly appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. I was as surprised as you were at Shukkeien Garden! In Japan, we call it “ichigo ichie” — a once-in-a-lifetime encounter. Meeting someone in a place we might visit only once in our lives and sharing such a meaningful moment together — that’s what we call “en” (a special connection), and it reflects the Japanese spirit of gratitude at the heart of our culture. The spot where you took those beautiful photos is actually dedicated to Japan’s highest Shinto deities! Please treasure those pictures — they carry a special meaning. I’ll never forget all the wonderful conversations we had during the tour. Warm regards, Kay
