About Tour Guide Miyu F.
My name is Miyu. I have been a Nationally Licensed Guide Interpreter since 2009. I began my career as a tourist guide last year after working as a public servant for nearly four decades.
I worked in the Atomic Bomb Survivors Support Division for 12 years until I retired from the local government, and I continue to interact with Hibakusha. Therefore, I have a lot of knowledge about A-bomb survivors, the reconstruction of Hiroshima, and the effects of radiation on the human body, which I can correctly convey to inbound visitors.
I have experience in tea ceremonies and calligraphy and am especially good at guiding visitors through tea ceremony experiences.
I love to watch baseball games, so I enjoy talking about them with guests from countries where they are popular.
I am a volunteer medical interpreter and can respond to visitors' sudden health problems.

Half- Day Hiroshima Highlight Tour
The highlight of this tour is visiting the A-bomb Dome, Peace Park, and Peace Memorial Museum. Here, you will learn that the atomic bomb deprived the citizens of Hiroshima of their future, walk through Hiroshima, which has been transformed into a beautiful and peaceful city, and feel the strength of the human race. You will also explore Hiroshima Castle and the beautiful Japanese garden Shukkeien adjacent to the castle.
Full -Day Hiroshima and Miyajima World Heritage Sites Tour
The highlights of this tour are the Atomic Bomb Dome and Miyajima. In the Peace Park and Peace Memorial Museum, you will learn that the atomic bomb deprived the citizens of Hiroshima of their future and feel the strength of the human race. We will then head to Miyajima, one of the three most scenic spots in Japan. Enjoy the unique Itsukushima Shrine and Otorii floating on the sea, and the majestic Daisho-in Temple. Full-Day in Miyajima
This tour is to spend a relaxing day on the beautiful island of Miyajima. In the morning, take the ropeway and hike to the top of the sacred mountain, Mt.Misen for a spectacular view. Then, enjoy the unique Itsukushima Shrine and Otorii (Grand Gate) floating on the sea, and the majestic Daisho-in Temple. For lunch, try Hiroshima's soul food okonomiyaki or delicious oysters. Wild deer will greet you on the streets.
Hiroshima Peace Tour with Streetcar
In this tour, you will explore the traces of the atomic bombing that remain in the beautiful city of Hiroshima by streetcar, and feel the strength of the people who rose from the ruins and the preciousness of peace. In addition to the Atomic Bomb Dome, Peace Park, and Peace Memorial Museum, this tour will also visit the Army Clothing Branch Depot, the Military Air Defence Room Ruins, and the A-bombed trees, which cannot be missed when talking about Hiroshima.
Half-Day Hiking to Toshogu Shire and Mitaki Temple
This tour visits Toshogu Shrine near Hiroshima Station and hikes through the forest to the summit of Mt.Futaba. From the top of the mountain, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Hiroshima. We will then travel three stops by JR and hike to Mitaki Temple. Take a stroll along the quiet pathway and be refreshed.

“The Very Best Experience”
We consider ourselves extraordinarily lucky to have found Miyu to guide us through the Hiroshima experience. Miyu was firstly absolutely delightful and accommodating of our changing schedule. Most importantly there is little about the horrors of Hiroshima history that she does not know and having been brought up in Hiroshima and having worked for many many years with bomb victims, she communicated all this in a very personal and sensitive manner. “Best tour we’ve ever had ”
We did a 4.5hr tour with Miyu-san, and it was nothing short of incredible. We had limited time in Hiroshima and Miyu-san made every minute count, ensuring we got to visit all the sites we wanted to. She kindly met us at our hotel, took us to the museum (she had prearranged tickets), Peace memorial park, Dome, hypocentre, castle and garden, and helped us get to the station. Her local knowledge and experience working with survivors put movement and colour around the experience that we otherwise wouldn’t have got if we had gone self guided. She has many sad and beautiful stories to share, which illuminated our time beyond a ‘tourist’ visit into a real, meaningful and heartfelt experience. Highly recommend.
