I am here to welcome you as your Japanese friend to help you understand Japanese culture, history and everything you want to know more and better. Central Hiroshima and Okonomiyaki (Local Food) Tour
First up, I bring you to Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. Hiroshima is well known as the first atomic bombed city in the world history. You walk and drop by at many spots built to commemorate the victims and learn more at the Peace Memorial Museum. After that study tour, we roam around Central area and finally arrive at Okonomiyaki restaurant for early supper. Okonomiyaki is Hiroshima's soul food; a savory pancake filled with chopped vegetables, meat, sea food, noodle, egg... Just give it a try.
Rabbit Island
Rabbit Island is home to hundreds of friendly bunnies who approach tourists for food. Once this island was secluded as a secret base of the Imperial Japanese Army to produce lethal gas during WW II. And because of the poison gas development, it is thought that the test subjects included rabbits. After the war, the island restored peace and got well overrun by bunnies to become a Heaven of rabbits. Please enjoy being mobbed by adorable creatures and the beautiful nature there.
Saijo....Sake Town
After 30 min. train ride from Hiroshima, you arrive at this tiny town, SAIJO. Just follow chimneys and you find SAKE here. In this small town, you will encounter the world famous and time-honored sake breweries. Enjoy waking around and drop in at some of sake breweries to have a taste. Good rice and quality water are indispensable for making good sake, though. This town has both of them. Let's explore the splendid nature and sake culture.

“Hiroshima peace park and Miyajima island ”
Mayumi met us at the port and we then took a taxi to ferry port to visit Miyajima island where we visited many shrines and temples including the famous O-Torii shrine in the sea . Ferry back to mainland then train and tram to Atomic dome at ground zero and peace park and museum which was very moving. Mayumi was very friendly and knowledgeable and explained everything to us. Another great day.

“Mayumi was very flexible with our changing schedule”
I felt sorry for Mayumi, who had planned a wonderful day for us, when our ship arrived two and a half hours behind schedule at 3:30 in the afternoon. She was able to adapt well to our needs, we wanted to see the Peace Park and Miyajima Island, and knew it would be tight for both. She was able to secure us a large taxi van instead of two cars for our group of five, and we went first to the Peace Park. I know she was disappointed in us not being able to see the large museum, but we didn’t have time to do it justice and it was overcrowded. She managed to get us on the ferry and to Miyajima at exactly the right time for the sunset and then back on the 7:00 p.m. ferry and back to our ship. We could never have done it without her, and it was a delight to spend the afternoon and evening with her. I would have loved to have had our whole day, and she was a good sport about cutting it short. Thanks Mayumi!

Therefore, I have a lot of knowledge about A-bomb survivors, the reconstruction of Hiroshima, and the effects of radiation on the human body, which I can correctly convey to inbound visitors. I have experience in tea ceremonies and calligraphy and am especially good at guiding visitors through tea ceremony experiences. I love to watch baseball games, so I enjoy talking about them with guests from countries where they are popular. I am a volunteer medical interpreter and can respond to visitors' sudden health problems.

Hi, I'm Kahori, a nationally licensed guide interpreter, and have just started working with GoWithGuide! I’m delighted to show people around this area. For the past almost 10 years, I have mainly guided foreign medical professionals around Hiroshima City and Miyajima, gaining a deep understanding of the effects of radiation and the support for A-bomb survivors. Hiroshima is a city of rivers and the sea. Along the rivers Cherry trees line, and the calm Seto Inland Sea, dotted with islands, creates a stunning landscape. Also, the sea has many islands called "art islands" which have fantastic arts relating to the art festival "Setoushi Triennale". In addition to our two World Heritage Sites, this area is rich in attractive resources. I hope many of you will come and experience this fascinating land. Personally, I am very passionate about modern art and enjoy sports like stand-up paddle boarding (SUP) on our rivers.
