Hi, I'm Ritsuko, a national licensed tour guide. I was born and raised in Tokyo.

I also love to go island hopping in Asia. That's why I have been to over 30 countries.
Wherever I went, people were so kind to me. So, it's my turn.
I will do my best to make your tour a memorable one!
Hope to hear from you soon.

“Great city tour!”
We enjoyed our time with Ritsuko. She had a great itinerary and was resourceful and flexible when we asked for modifications and additions. She was especially helpful in offering advice for other days when we would be on our own, offering specific resources. We would highly recommend her to others.

Hi Leann and Kim, Thank you for your kind words! It was a true pleasure guiding you on your first full day in Tokyo. Even though it was a bit chilly on the day, I’m glad we were able to visit even more spots than originally planned. Since it was such a beautiful, warm day today, you must have a fantastic time hiking in Kamakura. I hope you continue to enjoy your upcoming hiking tours. All the best!

“A Truly Special Guide and a Wonderful Person — Our Time with Ritsuko”
Spending two days with Ritsuko was one of the highlights of our time in Japan. She is an exceptional guide and a genuinely warm, kind, and thoughtful person who made our experience feel personal. Day 1 – Tokyo Ritsuko showed us the wonderful contrasts of Tokyo, beginning at Senso-ji in Asakusa, where she explained the history and traditions in a way that felt both accessible and meaningful. We then enjoyed a peaceful visit to Meiji Shrine and time exploring Harajuku. Her explanations were engaging and insightful, and her English is excellent. Day 2 – Kamakura Our day in Kamakura was equally memorable, although it was very rainy. Ritsuko guided us through Hokokuji, Tsurugaoka Hachimangu, the Great Buddha at Kotoku-in, and Hase Temple, sharing rich historical context while also allowing time to simply enjoy the beauty and atmosphere of each place. She was very patient, never rushed us, and always made sure we were comfortable and happy with the pace. What made our time with Ritsuko especially meaningful was the personal connection she shared with us. We loved hearing about her family and her life in Japan—it gave us a deeper appreciation of the culture beyond the sights themselves. Touring with her felt like spending time with a friend rather than just following an itinerary. And one unforgettable gesture deserves special mention: after our Tokyo tour had officially ended, Ritsuko kindly went out of her way to take us back across the city to the one store that sells licensed merchandise for all Japanese baseball teams, just so we could find the perfect gift for our grandson. That level of thoughtfulness and generosity is rare and speaks volumes about who she is. We cannot recommend Ritsuko highly enough. She is knowledgeable, extremely patient, warm, engaging, and truly cares about the people she guides. If you have the opportunity to tour with her, do not hesitate—you will leave with wonderful memories and a deeper connection to Japan.

Hi Steve and Inna, Thank you so much for your truly wonderful review. Our tour was in October last year, but despite the time that has passed, your fantastic feedback brought back fond memories of our time together. I still remember that our first contact was back in 2024, and after a few twists and turns, it was a true honor to finally meet you both on the tour one year later. Unfortunately, we weren't blessed with the best weather, but I'm glad I was able to guide you through the highlights of both Tokyo and Kamakura. It was also a fun experience for me to help you look for Giants and Fighters merchandise at the Selection shop! Thank you again for choosing me as your guide and for your kind words. I sincerely hope our paths cross again in the future. Until then, all the best!

My tour with Ritsuko was amazing, she paid attention to my individual interests and found a way to include them in the tour. She included history and context, and brought me to see many sides of Tokyo I wouldn't have experienced without her. Thank you for such a great day!

Hi, I am Hiromi, a National licensed guide in English. I studied in England and U.S. during my 20s and 30s. I graduated college in NY. While I lived in overseas and experiencing different culture, I had chances to look at Japanese culture from the outside. And I realized its richness and uniqueness. Experiencing different culture was like discovering my own culture. I live west part of Tokyo with my husband. Whenever we have time we like traveling. Also I have been practicing tea gathering (tea ceremony) about 10 years. In Tokyo, there exist traditional culture as well as pop culture. There are so many places I would like to show you. It’s my pleasure to introduce you exquisite part of Tokyo. Let’ enjoy exploring TOKYO with me! I’m looking forward to sharing memorable experience with you.

Grant A.
Important note: I am currently not able to take new customers after the end of March, 2026. My name is Grant, and I’ve spent over a decade living and exploring Japan. Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, I first came to Japan as a high school exchange student in Inuyama, a historic castle town in Aichi. My love for Japan began early—sparked by childhood games like Pokémon that were released in Japanese before English. That early curiosity grew into a lifelong passion for Japanese language, culture, and history. I hold an N2 on the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, a degree in Asian Studies from a Tokyo university, and I graduated from the Japan Visual Media Translation Academy. I’ve visited all 47 prefectures and explored a wide range of historical sites, shrines, and castles throughout the country. My background in Japanese history helps me provide context that brings depth and meaning to the places we visit—whether it's understanding a centuries-old temple in Kyoto, the story behind a castle ruin, or uncovering the historical layers of a Tokyo neighborhood. If you’re planning to explore Tokyo, here are some tour options to consider: One day in Tokyo? The Ginza Line Tour offers a great introduction to the city’s highlights. Two days? Pair the East Tokyo Tour and West Tokyo Tour to get a well-rounded experience. Interested in anime? The Anime Tour is flexible and can be tailored to match your specific interests. For those looking to go beyond the city, I also offer day trips to Nikko, Kamakura, and other nearby destinations. Full-Day Tour: 40,000 yen (8 hours) Full-Day Tour Outside of Tokyo: 40,000 yen + transportation Feel free to get in touch to plan a tour that fits your interests and travel plans.
