About Tour Guide Ritsuko K.

Hi, I'm Ritsuko, a national licensed tour guide. I was born and raised in Tokyo.

As Tokyo is a city of many faces, I hope you will discover your hidden gems during the tour.

I love to wander around the shops and places downtown and one of my hobbies is to find daily-use products made in Japan. So I can select unique souvenirs for you within your budget!

I am football-mad and have been to every FIFA World Cup except one tournament since 1998.

I also love to go island hopping in Asia. That's why I have been to over 30 countries.

Wherever I went, people were so kind to me. So, it's my turn.

I will do my best to make your tour a memorable one!

Hope to hear from you soon.

Wonderful day trip

I booked an 11 hour day trip to Hakone from Tokyo with Ritsuko. I was traveling alone to Japan for the first time and was nervous to navigate alone. Ritsuko was very communicative, informative, and helpful. She listened to what experience I wanted and offered suggestions. She was fun to travel with and was even willing to make a drop off location change last minute even though it out her over the time. She was polite, kind and easy going. Thanks for making my day 1 memorable!

Carol B.

Hi Carol, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! It truly means a lot to me that you enjoyed our day trip to Hakone. I had such a great time traveling with you as well. I appreciated your curiosity—not just about the sights we visited, but also about the customs of Japan, the school system, and even kanji! It made our conversations so enjoyable. As there are still many places in Tokyo I’d like to show you, please come back someday with your husband! I wish you all the best.

Great introduction to Tokyo!

Ritsuko was lovely, her communication prior to our arrival was informative and quick, she met us at our Hotel in Asakusa and we went for a walk around the river and local area, we went to some shrines that were less crowded than Senso-ji and also went to a great cafe for a coffee and a very traditional local restaurant for lunch, we would never had found those without Ritsuko! She also showed us how to use the subway system which can be confusing at first but now we’re off on our own, thank you Ritsuko!!

Mike H.

Hi Mike and Jenny, Thank you so much for your positive review and for sharing the nice photos! I’m glad you enjoyed exploring my favorite off-the-beaten-path spots. It was MY pleasure to show you a different side of Tokyo, away from the crowds, and I’m also delighted you felt at ease with the subway system after our tour. I wish you many more wonderful experiences on your journey in Japan with delicious foods and beautiful photos. Take care and all the best!

ON THE MOVE IN TOKYO WITH RITSUKO

Ritsuko K. met us in the lobby of our hotel in Shinjuku Tokyo at 9;00 am. Our hotel was located near a subway station so we were almost immediately on our way to an exciting day. Specifically, Ritsuko prepared an itinerary for first timers in Tokyo that included Imperial Palace and East Garden, Sensoji Temple, Harajuku, Meiji Shrine, Shibuya Crossing and Shibuya. We had time to relax a bit and enjoyed a Starbucks coffee and Danish pastry with Ritsuko. We were amazed how the subway system is designed and how efficient the entire transportation system works. The Suica pass in Japan is like a national debit card which can be used in subways, convenient stores and much more. This makes traveling and purchasing drinks and snacks easy and efficient. We did actually walk the Shibuya Crossing and viewed it from above in the subway station. You must do this when visiting Tokyo and we did! We have great respect for our tour guide and would recommend her for anyone looking for proper and meaningful visit to Tokyo! Do not hesitate to book this tour.... Sincerely, Robert and Ellen K

Robert K.

Hi Robert and Ellen, Thank you so much for your kind words! It was my pleasure to guide you through Tokyo’s highlights, and I’m so glad you had a wonderful time. I’m also happy to hear you enjoyed the efficiency of our transportation system. I’m sure your journey through Tokyo will be one to remember. Wishing you both many more memorable travels. Take care and stay healthy, Ritsuko

Japan

My name is Kumiko. I used to live in New York and London and worked for US companies for many years. Based on my experience, I recognize that Japan is a fascinating country, but at the same time, it is unique in many ways. Tokyo, as the capital of Japan, is a unique and diverse mix of cutting-edge technology, traditional culture, and Western influences. As an art lover, I am happy to show you many galleries in Tokyo. I received a Certificate of Art Business Masterclass from Christie's. As a guide, I'd like to explain to my guests about Japanese culture as well as background and introduce popular places and food. I think most visitors coming to Japan are hoping both to enjoy themselves and also have a meaningful encounter with a different culture. I am looking forward to helping you explore my city and enjoy everything it has to offer.

Hi. I’m Seigo. I am a licensed guide in both English and Chinese. I can speak Spanish just a little bit. I enjoy listening to music, watching sports, driving in my car, and learning new languages in my free time. Since I have lived in Kanagawa my whole life, I can offer satisfying private customized tours to each guest group. My recommended destinations in Kanagawa are Kamakura, a seat of Japan's first Shogunate, and Hakone, a popular resort area with mountains and Lake Ashi. In addition to the standard tourist destinations, I can also drive you around some nice places in the suburbs of Tokyo that foreign tourists don't usually visit. It will be great if you have fun exploring Japan with my little help. Please feel free to contact me anytime! Japan

I came to Japan in 1998, intending to stay a few months, but enjoying Japan, I never left. I was intrigued by the history, culture, language, and food. And the fascination and excitement of exploring and learning new things about Japan still exists with me today. The variety and choices of things to do and places to go can be overwhelming. I can offer you suggestions and a unique perspective on Japan. I can share local knowledge about things often missed. Fluent in Japanese with a master's degree in Japanese Studies and living in Japan for over 20 years, I can be your guide.
