Hi, I'm Ritsuko, a national licensed tour guide. I was born and raised in Tokyo.
As Tokyo is a city of many faces, I hope you will discover your hidden gems during the tour.
I love to wander around the shops and places downtown and one of my hobbies is to find daily-use products made in Japan. So I can select unique souvenirs for you within your budget!
I am football-mad and have been to every FIFA World Cup except one tournament since 1998.
I also love to go island hopping in Asia. That's why I have been to over 30 countries.
Wherever I went, people were so kind to me. So, it's my turn.
I will do my best to make your tour a memorable one!
Hope to hear from you soon.

“Outstanding Tour of Tokyo!”
Ritsuko was prompt and ready to go at the designated time. We started at the Imperial Palace with a quick walking tour. One of the things I truly appreciated is how accomodating Ritsuko was. Because we did not reserve tickets for a museum, she called the museum and got a time for us to go, which forced us to cut the initial walking tour of Imperial Palace a bit shorter, but she was keenly aware of what our preferences were. Not only that, the day was one of hotter days, so she made sure to get us places to sit, and helped us ensure we stay hydrated. One other thing we truly appreciated, was how she was so accomodating to my wife's "bum" knee. She slowed the pace when needed, as my wife struggled on the more uneven walking paths. On top of this, Ritsuko was FULL of interesting information about everything we saw! She pointed out details we otherwise would not have seen... e.g. at the Imperial Palace, at the Senshoji Temple, along the street, etc. She also helped us ensure a quick trip through the ticket purchase and navigation of all the train stations. Most of all, Ritsuko was VERY personable, and easy to talk to and ask questions. My entire family enjoyed our tour experience with her IMMENSELY! We will definitely look her up again on our next trip to Japan! Thank you Ritsuko for a WONDERFUL time!!!!!

Dear Hiro, Thank you so much for your kind and detailed review. It truly means a lot to me. It was MY pleasure to guide you and your family through Tokyo, especially on such a hot and humid day. I deeply admire how positive and engaged you all remained despite the heat. I’m also delighted if this tour served as even a small step in helping you and your sons connect more deeply with your roots in Japan. Sharing stories, culture, and history with you was a joy for me, and I hope the experience left a meaningful memory with you all. I would love to welcome you back to Tokyo again in the future. Until then, please take care and enjoy the memories you’ve made here. Doumo Arigato and Matane!

“Loved Our Day Exploring Tokyo with Ritsuko”
My family loved our day with Ritsuko! She was great in every way! Having already spent two days seeing some of the big sights in Tokyo, we asked Ritsuko to design a tour to visit sights related to historic and modern Tokyo that were a bit tougher to find on our own. She delivered a great experience that we all loved, including our 10-year-old daughter. We visited a museum with a full-size replica Japanese village from 200 years ago. Ritsuko explained how the village worked and some of Japan’s old and continuing traditions. Next, we had a delicious and fresh sushi lunch near the fish market. My daughter loved how Ritsuko helped her order and try new dishes. We also visited Ginza, where Ritsuko helped our whole family shop at some of the famous stationary, clothing, and department stores. She then took us to Akihabara to visit a specific board game store we wanted to see. All throughout the day Ritsuko chatted about Japan and kept our whole family engaged and happy. She was professional and friendly. We loved every minute, and we would definitely tour with Ritsuko again. Arigatou gozaimasu, Ritsuko-san!

Hi Christopher, Thank you so much for your heartwarming review! Your requests were a bit of a fun challenge, and with this summer heat, I was especially hoping your daughter wouldn’t get too tired. That’s why I was delighted to see her enjoying the Edo-period town, the conveyor belt sushi, and the shopping experience with such curiosity and energy! I hope your cruise journey brings many more discoveries and special moments in Japan. I can imagine Charlotte capturing them all in her new travel journal with a new FriXion pen—what a wonderful way to remember the journey. Please do come back to Tokyo again someday. I’d love to explore more with your lovely family. Take care and all the best!

“Flexible tour of Tokyo ”
Thank you for the tour Ritsuko! Ritsuko took my mother and I for a tour of Tokyo in the middle of summer while it was very hot. We had a route planned but Ritsuko was happy to make some last minute changes for us to accommodate for the hot weather (needing to have some more breaks and rests). Ritsuko also helped us to find the gate for where the Shinkansen departs! Thank you again! :)

Hi Dominika, Thank you so much for your kind review! It was an extremely hot day, and I’ve been hoping that you, coming from a cooler region, were still able to enjoy your time in Kyoto, do some shopping, and try some delicious food despite the heat and crowds. Please come back to Tokyo in a different season when the weather is much more pleasant. All the best!
