About Tour Guide Shusaku M.
My name is Shusaku. I was born and raised in Osaka, where I had the opportunity to immerse myself in the beautiful landscapes and rich culture of the region.
During my travels to 10 different countries, I came to realize the importance of listening to the locals to truly understand the culture and charm of a place. This experience taught me that local knowledge and experiences are invaluable in building a deeper understanding and connection while traveling.
In my tours, I make it a point to not only showcase the popular tourist destinations but also to share insights into the everyday lives of locals and the culture of the region. By incorporating stories and knowledge from locals, I aim to provide a more enriching travel experience.
My mission in life is to foster a deeper understanding of the world through travel and to build connections with people from different backgrounds. I look forward to creating unforgettable memories and sharing new discoveries with all of you!

“Great orientation course”
I did a decent amount of research beforehand, but like many people say, Tokyo can be quite overwhelming on your first visit. The 4-hour tour with Shusaku was excellent and really helped us ease into the city. We learned how to navigate the subway, proper etiquette in shrines and temples, and general do’s and don’ts. My wife and I had a really great time with Shu — he was very flexible and attentive to our needs. Looking back a few days later, kickstarting our trip with Shusaku on day 1 gave us the tools and confidence to enjoy the rest of the journey much more comfortably on our own. Highly recommended!

You were both so kind and wonderful to spend time with, and I truly enjoyed our time together. I hope you continue to enjoy the rest of your journey in Japan. Thank you again very much! “Tokyo and Sushi making experience”
Shu was an amazing tour guide gave us so many excellent recommendations and tips on how to use the amazing rail network to get around. He easily went above and beyond to make sure we all had a good time especially our two boys. The sushi making experience Shu organised was a very memorable experience and he took lots of photos of us the whole time we were together and shared them on the same day. We would highly recommend Shu as a tour guide for your trip to Tokyo :)

“The perfect Guide to really experience Tokyo”
Our family can’t say enough great things about Shu! What an amazing day working through the Tsukiji market and Asakusa. These places would easily be overwhelming, but Shu helped provide great background on the area, took us to the right food stalls for an amazing variety of different local dishes, and was just so personable. He offered to take pictures along the way, and was able to make changes to our plans as needed. Shu even stayed in contact with us after the tour to provide other recommendations or tips for our stay in Tokyo. We simply could not have asked for a better experience!

Being a former student and staff member of the University of Tokyo, I have a natural ability to communicate with people from all corners of the world. Regardless of whether you prefer to speak English, French, or Globish with me ! I have practiced Aikido, Iaido (Katana), and Kyudo (Bow) martial arts, and I have also worked on the restoration of Japanese armor. Therefore, I am well-versed in the art of war in ancient Japan. But my passion for history goes further, and during my guided tours, I will share various anecdotes that will bring ancient Japan to life for you ! I'm also a huge fan of old Japanese video games, especially RPGs, so if you want a true otaku experience, follow me to Nakano Broadway and Akihabara! If you're interested in arranging a tour that's tailored to your preferences, feel free to send me a message !

Hello! I’m Koichiro. Please call me “Yamasan”. It derives from my family name and my friends call me so. I worked for a machinery company as a project manager and engineer for mechanical and electrical construction projects both domestic and overseas for over 35 years. I recall my first overseas project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia when I was 26, and the second was in Singapore. I visited many countries for surveys, meetings, commissioning, project handing over, and so on. In 2014 at the age of 60, I decided to retire from the company and live the expected further 30 years of life with a new career and experiences. I, then, studied translation and guide interpretation. I passed the national examination for licensed guides (English) in 2015 and registered with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government in February 2016. Until now, I have been guiding many beautiful guests mainly to popular sightseeing spots such as Asakusa, Tsukiji, Omote-Sando, Meiji Jingu Shrine, and Tokyo Skytree, and also cultural experiences of Origami making, Furoshiki wrapping, and Sushi cooking. I am happy that I can freely arrange a customized tour together with you, or can propose my tours to you. I want to show you some parts of daily Tokyo life and introduce you to Bunkyo City which is located in the heart of Tokyo, just north of Chiyoda City where the Imperial Palace and Tokyo Station are. The city is Tokyo’s typical residential and academic area where I was born, grew up, and live a happy life now. Now, we can tour around the world but have not yet overcome COVID-19 completely. Recently, the number of passengers wearing masks on public transportation in Tokyo reduced to some 25% but we should mind about it still. Please carry your mask to wear it where or when necessary (December 2024, Yamasan).

I have been working for the business with American companies for many years and have many experiences guiding customers from all over the world, from Japan to the USA and Europe. I lived in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, for five years and loved to drive around Europe, the USA, and Japan. I now have a national license as a guiding interpreter and want to introduce Japanese traditional culture to people worldwide who are interested in it. I can be your guide in Tokyo, Yokohama, and Kamakura for your enjoyable time in Japan.
