About Tour Guide Shusaku M.

My name is Shusaku. I was born and raised in Osaka, where I had the opportunity to immerse myself in the beautiful landscapes and rich culture of the region.

During my travels to 10 different countries, I came to realize the importance of listening to the locals to truly understand the culture and charm of a place. This experience taught me that local knowledge and experiences are invaluable in building a deeper understanding and connection while traveling.

In my tours, I make it a point to not only showcase the popular tourist destinations but also to share insights into the everyday lives of locals and the culture of the region. By incorporating stories and knowledge from locals, I aim to provide a more enriching travel experience.

My mission in life is to foster a deeper understanding of the world through travel and to build connections with people from different backgrounds. I look forward to creating unforgettable memories and sharing new discoveries with all of you!

Bar hopping Tokyo tour

We had a fantastic time with Shu on the bar hopping tour. He was flexible to our schedule and group needs, and showed us a great time at the bars he selected. He also took many group photos on his camera and was kind enough to send them to us right after the tour. Of note: golden gai may not be able to seat large groups due to the small bar sizes.

Thank you for writing a review! I’m so glad I got to meet you. Enjoy your time in Japan! I hope our paths will cross again!

Fun Time at the Bar

We focused on Omoide and Golden Gai. It was fun to sit down, drink and eat. Ended up in a whiskey bar and had a great time interacting with a local.. We felt we could be loose with Shu around!

Halloween Japan 2024 Photo Shoot

The moment we met Shusaku, at the entrance of the Hilton Tokyo Bay Hotel, he was there to assist us with all our needs and had a beautiful color printed Halloween Japan 2024 Photoshoot itinerary for me… (Very Cool) .... Then taking our luggage, locating our driver and jumping right in and started taking our first Halloween Japan 2024 photos at Hilton Tokyo Bay Hotel We could feel a new friendship starting with Shusaku…The driver and Shusaku, worked great together, making sure to drop us off at areas we can easily get to each location… Firstly, Tokyo Dome, unfortunately I was feeling well, maybe some motion sickness Shusaku, was very professional, knowing we were in a private hotel area… he made sure we were waiting in a not so visible area being in full costume… Then Sho went to looks for water for me, couldn’t find a store and ended up bringing me cups of cold water… That was the beginning of a great friendship We then made it to our first location for a photo shoot, (Tokyo Dome) Shusaku was able to capture everything I was hoping for and more… Then he goes and buys us drinks before leaving for Tokyo Tower for another great Halloween Japan photo shoot But it was at Odaiba Park, When Shusaku really went to work… Helping us take photos with the locals and visitors, all waiting in line to have a photo taken with us… Sho was absolutely great with everyone, especially the children… That made our day… Being a celebrity for a day… Personal Photographer and Private driver and all our fans Aloha Sho, Many Mahalos for all your help, kindness, and special friendship I can't thank you and the driver enough for all you did for Pari, and I… Pari and I felt so blessed to have you as our guide... Because you have such a great personality and were always attentive to all our needs and more Also, you and the driver worked so well together Making our Halloween Japan 2024 Photo Shoot the experience of a lifetime… Mahalo and Aloha

Thank you so much for joining the tour the other day. It was an honor to meet you all. Your Deadpool costume was amazing—the quality was top-notch, and there was always a line of people wanting to take pictures with you. Everything about it was such a wonderful memory. Please let me know the next time you visit Japan. I’m looking forward to seeing you again. Thank you so much!

*Bookings for cherry blossom season are full; if the date on the calendar is greyed out I am not available* Hello! My name is Grant, and I’ve spent over a decade living and exploring Japan. Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, I first came to Japan as a high school exchange student in Inuyama, a historic castle town in Aichi. My love for Japan began early—sparked by childhood games like Pokémon that were released in Japanese before English. This passion led me to pass the N2 Japanese Language Proficiency Test in 2018, study at language schools across Japan, and graduate from the Japan Visual Media Translation Academy. I’ve traveled to every prefecture in Japan, often using unlimited rail passes to explore castles, historic sites, and regional specialties. I hold a degree in Asian Studies from a Tokyo university, and my extensive experience living in Tokyo has made me an expert on the city’s transportation system, hidden gems, and affordable eats. With over 30 visits to Kyoto, I have deep knowledge of its historical sites and the broader cultural landscape of Japan. I studied at Japanese language school in Kyoto. I visited all the world heritage sites in Kyoto and have a lot of knowledge on the history of Japan. I can provide tours of Kyoto or places outside of Tokyo for an additional transportation fee. Tour options: Half-Day Tour: 20,000 yen (4 hours) Full-Day Tour: 40,000 yen (8 hours) Full-Day Tour Outside of Tokyo: 40,000 yen plus transportation expense
