“Amazing experience seeing the best of Tokyo with Melody”

This was my first time using gowithguide. I usually just look up places I want to visit and make my way. I can’t tell you how glad we were that we found Melody and booked this tour. We had a limited time in Tokyo (one week) so planned our tour for the first day. Melody was able to meet us at our hotel, teach us how to use the train system efficiently, and show us some of the best sites in Tokyo. He was able to arrange a private booth for us at the fish market that served the best Sushi and Miso. Having a guide who can translate is tremendously helpful if you don’t speak much Japanese. This private experience is less like being on a tour and more like having a friend from Tokyo show you around the city they love. We hope to return and would definitely book Melody for another tour.

Darren, we went around to so many places—it was such a fun day! The funniest moment of the day was when you realized that the total bill for three people’s best-quality sushi came to only $60, and you almost went back to the sushi restaurant because you thought, “This is way too cheap… maybe they charged us the wrong amount!” That sushi place is unbelievably affordable and delicious. What I always try to do is treat my guests like friends or family. As of 2026, that’s something AI still can’t replicate. I’m really glad you booked me on GoWithGuide and that I was able to meet both of you. And thank you so much for your perfect review from an algorithm professional like yourself (an inside joke that only we would understand, haha).

“Incredible night to remember with our new friend Melody!!”

I was initially hesitant to book this tour as Golden Gai is heavy with tourists so I figured a guide wouldn’t be needed. I’m so glad that I booked, and booked with Melody! Not only was he able to show us the best spots in the area, but at my request he was able to get us access to areas normally frequented by locals to get a more authentic experience. Areas that could only be found by locals. We felt less like we were on a tour and more like we had a local friend that was showing us the best locations and experience. Anyone can go to Golden Gai and go from small bar to bar, but to truly experience the area from a local perspective is unique and I can’t imagine anyone better than Melody to give you that view.

Darren, thank you so much for your wonderful review again. It truly became the best night—literally. Kabukicho is a unique nightlife area with iconic sights like the 3D cat, the Godzilla Head, and host clubs that create an atmosphere you won’t find anywhere else. At our first stop in Golden Gai, the bar was tiny but offered excellent local Japanese whisky. At the second spot, there was sake, a woman dressed in a kimono, and even a master of traditional Japanese toy. The third bar was a cozy local attic space with a friendly and welcoming bartender. Three hours simply wasn’t enough—I honestly wished I could have spent more time listening to your stories. I hope I can become as attractive people as you two are someday. Keep in touch, my friends. “Five stars for great tours of Tokyo with Melody”

I had the pleasure of hiring Melody for two tours in Tokyo, and each was exceptional. Thanks to him, my group and I were able to experience so much of the city: from Meiji Jingu shrine to Tsukiji Outer Market, Senso-ji temple, Harajuku, and so much more. Melody’s English is good, making everything easy to understand, and his passion for his job shines through. He brought each neighborhood to life with interesting details that we would have completely missed on our own. We covered an incredible amount of ground while never feeling rushed, and we always felt well taken care of. Five stars without hesitation.
