Giza Pyramids

Our first stop is the legendary Giza Pyramid Complex, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and the last one still standing. You'll begin with the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the largest of the three pyramids, built over 4,500 years ago as a tomb for Pharaoh Khufu. Standing at its base, you'll truly appreciate the incredible scale and precision of ancient Egyptian engineering — built without modern machinery, yet aligned almost perfectly with the cardinal points.

Next, we'll visit the Pyramid of Khafre, which still retains some of its original limestone casing near the top, and the smaller Pyramid of Menkaure. I'll share the fascinating history behind their construction and the myths that still surround these monuments today.

We'll then head to the iconic Great Sphinx of Giza, the mysterious limestone statue with a lion's body and a pharaoh's head, believed to guard the pyramid complex.

For unforgettable views, we'll stop at the famous Panorama Point, where all nine pyramids of Giza can be seen together — the 3 large pyramids built for the kings, and 6 smaller ones built for the queens. Camel riding is available here as an optional activity, offering a magical way to enjoy this breathtaking panoramic scene.

Throughout this stop, I'll bring the history to life with stories about the pharaohs and daily life in ancient Egypt, going beyond the facts found in any guidebook.

01:00 PM

Saqqara

Our second stop is Saqqara, home to the Step Pyramid of Djoser — the oldest stone monument on Earth, built over 4,700 years ago by the architect Imhotep. Unlike the smooth-sided pyramids of Giza, this pyramid was built in six stacked layers, marking the very beginning of pyramid construction in ancient Egypt and representing a revolutionary leap in architecture and engineering for its time.

We'll walk through the Great Colonnade Hall, the impressive entrance corridor lined with 40 limestone columns designed to resemble bundled reeds — one of the earliest examples of monumental stone architecture in human history. This hall was part of the funerary complex built to serve Djoser in the afterlife.

I'll also take you to the embalming temple area, where I'll explain the fascinating mummification process ancient Egyptians used to preserve bodies for the afterlife — from the removal of organs to the use of natron salt and sacred oils, and the deep religious beliefs behind this ritual.

Throughout this stop, I'll connect what you see to the bigger story of how Egyptian pyramid-building evolved — from Djoser's Step Pyramid all the way to the smooth giants of Giza — giving you a rare, deeper understanding of ancient Egyptian civilization that most tourists never get to experience.

02:00 PM

Memphis

Our final stop is Memphis, the legendary first capital of unified Egypt, founded by King Menes around 3100 BC. Once one of the greatest cities of the ancient world, Memphis served as Egypt's political and religious center for centuries, dedicated to the god Ptah.

Today, an open-air museum preserves some of the city's most remarkable treasures. The undisputed highlight is the Colossus of Ramses II, a massive fallen limestone statue of the great pharaoh, so large and detailed that visitors can walk around it on an elevated platform to admire its craftsmanship up close.

We'll also see the stunning Alabaster Sphinx, one of the largest sphinx statues outside of Giza, carved from a single block of alabaster.

I'll share the fascinating history of Memphis as the birthplace of Egyptian civilization, its role as a thriving capital for over 3,000 years, and how this once-mighty city gradually gave way to Cairo as Egypt's political center evolved over time.

This final stop beautifully completes our journey — from the grandeur of the pyramids, to the origins of pyramid-building in Saqqara, to the very birthplace of the civilization that created them all.

12:00 PM

Stop for lunch (optional)

Optional lunch stop available upon request. If you'd like to enjoy a traditional Egyptian meal during the tour, just let me know in advance and I'll arrange a stop at a local restaurant that suits your taste and budget. Lunch cost is not included in the tour price.
