Driving south from Lisbon

Starting in Lisbon, driving 1 hour to Azeitão village, located inside Setúbal Wine Region. You´ll be travelling in comfortable van with air conditioning where you just have to relax and enjoy the ride all the way.

Enjoy a local sweet treat

Savor a local specialty with espresso. Taste the famous Torta de Azeitão (tart with eggs, corn flour, cinnamon and egg cream).

Stroll through the village

Walk on the main avenue while learning about the history of this beautiful and small village enchanting visitors since the 13th century.

Visit Bacalhôa gardens

Visit the vineyards, the many outside sculptures including some of the Terracotta Army, the US President Abraham Lincoln among many others, ancient olive trees over 2 thousand years old, along a Kaki tree, the 'great-granddaughter' of the only tree to survive the Nagasaki bomb.

Visit the Bacalhôa winery

Discover its history which brings together wine, nature and art in a group guided tour of 60 minutes. Discover different collections divided into three thematic groups expository: "Out of Africa" is an exhibition dedicated to the Queen Ginga, “Forgotten Generation” dedicated to three artists marked by the Holocaust period and “The Portuguese Tiles” from XVI to XX Century used so lush and unparalleled in any European country. Learn the process to make the Moscatel de Setubal, one of the three fortified wines in Portugal and visit the wine cellar for the reds and withes.

The guided tour will end up by the shop for tasting a white wine, a red wine and the popular Moscatel of Setúbal. Time to admire the tranquil scene of the Japanese garden, in which some of the works of the sculptor Niizuma are exhibited.
