This tour covers the best of Sintra, from its iconic palaces to its stunning coastline and natural landscapes. You’ll travel in a classic Portuguese jeep, explore scenic viewpoints, and learn about the area’s history and culture. The itinerary is flexible, so you can choose what to visit and enjoy at your own pace. In the morning, we’ll explore the village of Sintra and its palaces, and in the afternoon, we’ll head to the Sintra coast, continuing later along the scenic Cascais coastline.

Meeting Point

Sintra Train station/ "Casa do Preto" (It depends on how you choose to come to Sintra)

- We usually start the tour at Sintra Train Station, which is perfect if you’re coming by train from Lisbon (Rossio train station). But if you’re arriving by Uber or rental car, no problem, we can easily adjust the meeting point!

Sintra National Palace

Stop at the best viewpoint to admire the view over the National Palace of Sintra, take some great photos, and hear your guide share the history behind it.

Biester Palace and Park

Stop to admire the view of Biester Palace, learn about its history, and enjoy a short walk around the area to take some photos and appreciate the surroundings.

Moorish Castle

Stop at a scenic viewpoint to admire the Moorish Castle, learn about its fascinating history, and take a short walk around the area to enjoy the views and capture some photos.

Pena National Palace and Park

Stop to admire the view of Pena Palace, learn about its history, and take a short walk around the area.

If you’d like to go inside, tickets cost between €10–€20.

We recommend visiting one, at most two palaces during the day so you can fully enjoy each stop without rushing.

One of our suggestions is to visit just the park of Pena Palace (the grounds only) which still offers amazing views and unique architectural style.

Quinta da Regaleira

Stop to admire the view of Quinta da Regaleira, explain its history, and take a short walk around the area.

- If you wish to enter, the ticket costs €15.

- Again, we recommend visiting one, at most two palaces during the day, so we don’t have to rush any of the stops

- With the ticket for Quinta da Regaleira being one of our suggestions.

Sintra Historical Center

Free time to explore the charming streets and local shops of Sintra’s Historical Center.

(There will only be time for this stop if you decide not to visit two palaces.)

Seteais Palace

Pass by the Seteais Palace, admire its neoclassical architecture, and learn about its history.

Monserrate Palace

Pass by Monserrate Palace, enjoy the view, and learn about its history

Azenhas do Mar

Walk along one of Sintra’s most charming beaches and take in the incredible scenery, enjoying the views and atmosphere of the coastline.

Colares - Praia Grande

In the afternoon, head to Colares, a coastal town in Sintra, making several stops at different beaches. Here you can choose from a variety of local restaurants for lunch, including traditional Portuguese cuisine or seafood restaurants, with or without a sea view.

Roca Cape + Secret

The westernmost point of Europe, with a breathtaking view of the Atlantic Ocean. Before reaching Cabo da Roca, we’ll take a short off-road route to “hidden gem”, the most stunning cliff viewpoint in the Sintra

Cascais

Finally, we’ll drive along the scenic Cascais coastline all the way to the city center, where the tour comes to an end

- In summer, bring sunscreen as there will be prolonged exposure to the sun

- In winter, wear appropriate footwear and bring a raincoat
