The Sachsenhausen camp was one of the first concentration camps established by the Nazis near the city of Berlin, and it is currently used as a memorial site in memory of more than 200,000 prisoners who were imprisoned and killed there, including Jews, communists, homosexuals, gypsies, Jehovah's Witnesses and opponents of the Reich regime.
