If we can't see the mountain, I would recommend visiting Oshino Hakkai and Kimono Museum in the following general itinerary.

Traveling from Tokyo to Kyoto on Shinkansen trains? Why don't you make a stop at Shizuoka to enjoy view of Mt. Fuji, history of the greatest SHOGUN, and shopping in a "good-sized" comfortable city? It is far less crowded than big cities like Tokyo or Osaka, and still goood products are available for shopping. Shizuoka is known for production of green tea, and matcha is available at many shops (often out of stock in Tokyo!).
