We take an express bus at Shinjuku Station Bus Terminal at 7:34 am to Kawaguchiko Station.
The bus arrives at Kawaguchiko Station at 9:20 am.
Then we take 15 minutes walk to Fujisan Panorama Ropeway.
We arrive at Fujisan Panorama Ropeway at around 9:40 am.
We take the ropeway to the top of Mt. Tenjo to see Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi.
Here are some information on the Fujisan Panorama Ropeway and Mt. Tenjo.
Fujisan Panorama Ropeway offers a breathtaking aerial view of the surrounding area, most notably Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi. This ropeway transports visitors to the summit of Mt. Tenjo to provide a scenic journey that showcases the stunning landscapes and natural beauty of the region.
There is an association of Mt. Tenjo with the "Tale of Kachi-Kachi Yama."
The name "Kachi-Kachi Yama" directly translates to "Crackle-Crackle Mountain" in English, referring to the sound of fire burning, which is a significant element in the folktale. The story itself involves a rabbit enacting revenge on a mischievous racoon dog by setting traps that cause the crackling fire sound, among other things. Mt. Tenjo's association with the tale and the presence of storyboards at its summit that depict scenes from the folktale serve to enrich the visitor experience, connecting the natural beauty of the area with Japan's rich tradition of storytelling.
After descending Mt. Tenjo, we walk to the bus stop and take the 11:11 bus to Oishi Park. We get off the bus at the Shizen Seikatsukan Bus Stop after 16 minutes ride and walk to Oishi Park.
Here is some information on Oishi Park.
Oishi Park offers breathtaking panoramic views of Mt. Fuji, especially during the cherry blossom season in spring and the autumn foliage season. The sight of Mt. Fuji's majestic peak reflected on the serene waters of Lake Kawaguchi is a popular subject for photographers and artists. It is also known for its various flower fields, including lavender and shibazakura (moss phlox) fields. These fields bloom in different seasons, adding vibrant colors to the surroundings.
We take a bus at Oishi Park at 12:12 pm. As this bus arrives at Yakuba Iriguchi bus stop at 12:34 pm, we walk to the famous local cuisine restaurant "KOSAKU."
This is very famous for "Hoto," which is a traditional local cuisine from Yamanashi Prefecture. It is a type of noodle dish, often considered a comfort food, particularly famous in the region for its hearty and warming qualities. Hoto noodles are thick, flat wheat noodles, resembling udon but broader and flatter. These noodles are cooked in a miso-based broth, which is flavored with various vegetables such as pumpkin, potatoes, carrots, mushrooms, and sometimes meat, typically chicken or pork.
Hoto is not only a culinary delight but also a part of Yamanashi's cultural heritage, embodying the local cuisine's simplicity, warmth, and reliance on seasonal ingredients. Visitors to Yamanashi often look forward to trying this traditional dish.
We take a bus near the restaurant at 14:04 pm and arrive at Oshino Hakkai at 14:43.
Oshino Hakkai is a group of eight ponds located in Oshino Village, Yamanashi Prefecture. It is known for its crystal-clear spring water, which originates from the nearby Mt. Fuji. The eight ponds are formed from the filtered water of the mountain, creating a serene and picturesque environment. The water from the ponds is actually snowmelt and rainwater that has traveled through layers of volcanic rock on Mt. Fuji, making its way down to the ponds. This natural filtration process results in exceptionally pure and clear water.
We leave Oshino Hakkai by taking a bus at 4:36 pm.
We arrive at Fujisan Station at 4:52 pm
Then we take an Express Bus bound for Shinjuku Station at 5:13 pm.
We arrive at Shinjuku Station at 7:10 pm.

“Friendly, professional, knowledgeable, flexible, accommodating, and fun!”
Our day with Macky was excellent. In every way, Macky delivered. We had a full itinerary planned, and even with a last minute request to change one of our stops from a bike ride to a winery visit, Macky was able to accommodate. If you are looking for a guide that will find a way to squeeze in all that you want to do within a short time frame without sacrificing the integrity of your trip, Macky is your guide. Prior to our tour, Macky sent us a detailed itinerary down to the hour (while also allowing for flexibility). He really listened to what we wanted to do and what we wanted to accomplish in one day and he made it all happen. Macky is a great tour guide with a wealth of knowledge about Japan who will work with your requests and make sure your day/tour is time extremely well-spent. Thank you, Macky!
