About

Hello! I am Seiko, National Licensed Guide since 2007.

I was born and raised in Kurashiki (Okayama pref.), spent my college days in Kyoto, and currently living in a city between Kyoto and Osaka.

I also have a degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from the University of Wisconsin-Stout and worked as a translator/interpreter, market researcher, and executive assistant for global companies for many years where I enjoyed spending a precious time with people from different backgrounds and cultures and broaden my world and horizons.

I myself am a traveler for life, been to more than 30 countries and all the prefectures in Japan, and always excited to help my clients with their planning. I am also a hiker, kayaker, scuba diver, and snowboarder enjoying myself mostly outdoors in every season.

Besides city tours in Osaka and Kyoto, my tours can stretch to introducing local food and drinks, sake/beer brewery visit, visiting less-touristy areas, excursions to enjoy the nature such as walking/hiking tours, baseball games, tours for kids, onsen day-out, and more!

Let's have a fun time and unique experience with me!

*Please check my original tours in Kyoto, Osaka, Nara and Kobe/Himeji. These tour rates are more reasonable than booking a custom tour with me:)

(Note: you cannot customize these tours unless listed as options)

Important Notes before booking:

1. Transportation fee, entrance fee, and lunch/dinner for you and guide during the tour are NOT INCLUDED in the guide fee and to be paid at each site. Please bring enough cash to separately pay them during the tour. (Licensed guides get free admission at temples/shrines/castles and most tourist attractions, except for some facilities like aquarium, zoo, amusement parks, etc.)

2. Hotel/Cruise ship dock pick-up is optional for custom booking tours. It is 1,000 - 1,500 yen depending on your hotel/dock and tour location, and hotel drop-off after the tour is optional.

3. 6-hour is minimum for custom tours. Weekend tour is available only upon request for multi-day tours.

4. Please let me know IN ADVANCE if anyone in your group has any physical challenge and/or food allergies.

Full day Kyoto with fantastic guide

Seiko is an excellent knowledgeable guide with great English skills and attentive, intuitive sense of what we were interested in and spent more time guiding and explaining the historical and cultural significance of them. We had an optional day planned for Nara but learned from her about the islands in the Seto Inland Sea. She noted that we enjoyed the arts and suggested it as another option. A bonus from a professional that really knows the country!

history, hidden gems, and laughs!

My sister, niece and I spent three amazing days with Seiko. We had so much fun, we wanted to have more days! She is so full of knowledge about Japanese culture, food, history, and art. She navigated us swiftly and effortless around Kyoto, Nara, and Osaka, and showed us many hidden jewels we would have missed if we had been on our own. She is also super sweet, a great conversationalist, and a lot of fun. After Day 1, she already felt like a old family friend. We hope to see her again!!

Thanks Chris, you guys were amazing! I had such a great time in the 3-day tour especially showing different kinds of sake and some of my favorite dishes to the gourmet family:) 3 days were not enough for me to accommodate your kind of people, so please come back and let me show you more! Thanks again! Seiko
