About Tour Guide Eiji K.
Hi I'm Eiji, an English tour guide in Amami Ōshima.
Born in Tokyo and left the crazy town when I was 22 years old with my little backpack. Spent about 3 years to see and experience the world, more than 25 countries in total, and lived in a couple of different part of Japan, such as Yakushima, Izu, and Kochi. And finally, drifted to the southern subtropic island, Amami Ōshima in 2015.
I have worked as an English tour guide for an Australian company for 3 years and also worked as a sea kayak tour guide for 3 years, love to show people around my favorite places.
My hobbies are outdoor activities such as canoeing, surfing and camping. Traveling, eating and drinking as well!
I'm looking forward to sharing our time and traveling together on this beautiful island.

Available only in Amami Ōshima at this moment, however expecting to expand the area to Kagoshima in the main land near future.

“Short but Sweet Day Tour of Amami Island”
Eiji is very knowledgeable about the island, he also flexible with the itinerary and will adjust it however you like. Even though my trip was not that long, i managed to see a few iconic place in Amami Oshima. Eiji is such a wonderful guide and companion you can ever asked for. Can’t thank him enough for arranging such a short but sweet day trip in Amami Oshima

“Incredible tour of Amami”
I could not speak more highly of Eiji! Fantastic guide: very personable, knowledgeable, punctual, and just a great person to spend a day with on Amami. I had booked the longer version of his Amami Experience tour, as well as his nocturnal tour. I personally would recommend both, since you get to see completely different wildlife during the day and at night, and a nocturnal trip of the forest is truly a magical experience. The day tour consisted of driving to two different forests, with easy-to-medium level hiking. The nocturnal tour was mostly driving through the forest looking for animals, with just occasional walking along the road near the car. Eiji was highly responsive in advance of the trip to arrange all the details. I was most interested in birds, and he was very accommodating in tweaking the trip to make it ideal for me. In the end, I got to see and photograph all of the birds I was hoping for on Amami. I also got to see lots of incredible plants and animals besides birds, including Amami rabbits and the Hime Habu snake, and generally to experience the beauty of this amazing island. In case this matters, Eiji was exceptionally fluent in English, in part because he has done study abroad in the US.
