Hello, I am a retired captain of a commuter airline, with over 40 years of experience and over 22,400 flight hours focused on providing safe and comfortable travel. I have had the opportunity to visit various countries, including Japan, the United States, China, Taiwan, South Korea, and the Philippines. After retiring, I worked as a volunteer guide for city walks in Kagoshima for eight years and obtained my certification as a certified guide for the World Heritage Sites in Kagoshima Prefecture. The joy of traveling overseas is getting to know different cultures, languages, and the unique lifestyles and food cultures of the people. However, what is most valuable to me are the memories made meeting people during travels. During my career, I focused on safely and comfortably transporting passengers. Today, I aim to continue a job that brings travelers fun and memorable experiences. I am committed to being a reliable guide for everyone and providing memorable trips.

I was born and raised on the Osumi Peninsula in the eastern part of Kagoshima Prefecture. In elementary school, I walked 4 km one way to school. I used to fuss with the neighborhood children about the kappa (a well-known Japanese specter, water imps) in the creek. In summer, I drank from the freshwater flowing into the eel pond on my way home and picked wild strawberries to eat. I aim to be a guide who can provide such "unique" and exciting experiences that I cultivated as a child. I am a local, and I can give you a guide who understands the area. I have a husband, a son, a daughter, and two cats. My home is in a rich natural environment, and in early summer, you can hear the call of the ruddy kingfisher!

In my town Kagoshima, there are abundant nature and places where you can experience unique local culture. My favorite place is Mt. Sakurajima. It’s one of the best active volcanoes in the world. From observatories, you could feel its energy and, moreover if you are lucky, it will erupt in front of you! “A keen guide very knwledgable of Kagoshima”
Pros: Punctuial and proactive in customizing our tour. Provided recommendations based on our interests and has an informative narrative of what we were seeeing as welll as Kagoshima historyt. All in all a great day under his care. Con: somewhat quiet spoklen and difficult to understand at, so patience is a virtue for the overall experience
