Hi I'm Eiji, an English-speaking tour guide in Kagoshima and Amami Oshima. Born in Tokyo and left the bustling capital when I was 22 years old with my little backpack. After retiring, I worked as a volunteer guide for city walks in Kagoshima for eight years and obtained my certification as a certified guide for the World Heritage Sites in Kagoshima Prefecture. That’s why I decided to become a guide in Kagoshima! Kagoshima is a perfect blend of stunning nature and rich culture. We can see the majestic Sakurajima volcano from the city, which reminds us the powerful natural forces. Kagoshima was home to major Meiji Restoration figures, so history lovers will find plenty to explore. And of course, the food is incredible—famous for Kurobuta (Berkshire pork), Satsuma-age (fried fish cakes), and Shochu (a local distilled spirit). I’m passionate about history and love visiting historical sites all over Japan, especially in Kyoto and Nara, where I can explore Japan's ancient history. I also like outdoor activities like kayaking, hiking, and camping. Kagoshima’s natural landscape is perfect for these adventures, so there’s always something new to discover! “Our day wth Hoshie K”
Great experience. Hoshie.K met us at the boat terminal at the agreed time. This tour was our shortest one in Japan and South Korea. We spent our morning strolling thru beautiful gardens. We also did some Tie Dying and had a great traditional lunch. Hoshie was very knowledgeable and easy to understand. Thank you Hoshie for a great time, see you next time I’m in Japan

“Wonderful tour!!!”
During our Kagoshima tour, the driver kindly explained about Sengan-en Garden and Sakurajima Island using Google Translate so that we could fully enjoy and understand the experience. I truly appreciated his thoughtfulness and effort to make sure nothing was lost in translation. He also recommended a wonderful Wagyu restaurant, which turned out to be one of the highlights of the trip. The meal was unforgettable, and it felt like we were being treated with great care. More than anything, I was deeply touched by the warmth and hospitality we received throughout the day. Thanks to his kindness and dedication, our time in Kagoshima became not only enjoyable but also truly memorable.
