I fell in love with Kagoshima the moment I set foot here, and it's been five years. I’m a national government licensed tour guide. Kagoshima is a perfect blend of stunning nature and rich culture. We can see the majestic Sakurajima volcano from the city to feel the powerful natural force. Kagoshima was home to major Meiji Restoration figures, so history lovers will find plenty to explore. And of course, the food is incredible—famous for Kurobuta (Berkshire pork), Satsuma-age (fried fish cakes), and Shochu (a local distilled spirit). “An unforgettable day discovering the hidden gems of Kagoshima”
This tour was truly one of the highlights of our visit to Kagoshima. A big thank you to our guide Yaron for his warmth, knowledge, and wonderful hospitality throughout the day. We started the day with a relaxing sand bath and onsen, which was such a unique and refreshing experience. From there, the journey continued with many memorable stops — exploring the beautifully preserved Chiran Samurai Residences, visiting the deeply moving Kamikaze site, enjoying the scenic views at Lake Ikeda, and having fun at the flowing somen restaurant. Yaron made the entire experience smooth, engaging, and very personal with his stories and insights. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to discover the hidden gems of Kagoshima beyond the usual tourist spots.

“Beautiful day in Kagoshima ”
We enjoyed an excellent day in Kagoshima with Hitomi as our guide. She had arranged everything perfectly for our cruise port visit and was a great host. Hitomi even made us a reservation for a hot pot meal to try the famous Kagoshima black pork and it was so delicious- "Meccha oishii"! Thank you Hitomi for a great introduction to your city!
