“Shimizu port / Shizuoka city with Take”
We had the best day with Take! We would HIGHLY recommend doing his tour. He’s so knowledgeable and friendly, and lived in Shizuoka City his whole life so he knew all the best places. We went to the Miho no matsubara pine grove where we saw the trees from the legend of Hagoromo and amazing views of Mt. Fuji. It was beautiful and we learned so much about the history of the site as well. We also went to the Nihondaira yume terrace where we had incredible views of the city, the bay, and Mt Fuji. After that we went to our favorite part of the day, a private visit to a tea room with an actual tea master, Mr. Kato. We got to watch him prepare matcha for us and we shared the tea and some traditional Japanese sweets together with him and his wife. Then he let us try making it ourselves. It was both intimate and authentic and we will never forget the experience. Take is an extremely well prepared and thoughtful tour guide. He provided us with a bag of some Japanese sweet and salty snacks along the way and then surprised us with a very meaningful gesture of a handwritten post card with our names written in Kanji. Thanks for the wonderful day that we’ll never forget Take! Tom and Chelsea from Denver

Tom san and Chelsea san, I hope your stay in Shimizu, the time we spent together, and your great experience will remain a wonderful memory for you forever—even if Mt. “Mt Fuji and Shogun Tour”
Take was well prepared and conscientious. He covered off all the highlights while allowing sufficient time at each location. Take was on time and always going the extra mile! He made the tour enjoyable and easy.

Hi Jude san and Lisa san, Thank you so much for your kind words. Hearing that you enjoyed the tour brings me the greatest joy as a guide. You were truly lucky to see Mount Fuji, even if it wasn't perfectly clear! I hope this tour becomes a cherished memory of your time in Japan. Take

“I can’t say enough about my morning with Take”
It was the last day of a 17 day solo tour of Japan and the last thing I wanted to do when I woke up this morningwas visit more crowded shrines and temples especially since the cherry blossoms were mostly gone. Take knew that I wanted to focus on photography and he research the best spots for me to efficiently photograph the highlights of our tour. Not only did he research where and what to shoot but also how best to shoot it. The weather cooperated and we had a lovely day for photographs of Mount Fuji. The cherry blossoms were gone, but he found azaleas. He also found quiet, beautiful neighborhood shrines that were visually and spiritually appealing. Did I mention that his English was excellent. You could not go wrong hiring Take as a guide.

I am Fumie Ueda, a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter in Atami, Shizuoka, only 50 minutes away from Tokyo by Shinkansen trains. Atami is conveniently located at the foot of the Hakone mountains, and the base of the Izu Peninsula. It is also close to Mt. Fuji and the Shimizu Port in Shizuoka. I am excited to show you around beautiful places that I love. I grew up in Yokohama, spent 1 year as a high school exchange student in Allentown, PA in the US, went to college and lived/worked in Tokyo for about 10 years before coming to this beautiful onsen resort. After becoming a guide, I met with guests from various backgrounds, and I feel grateful once again, for my experience to be exposed to different cultures in my youth. Let’s have a good time together!
