Hello! I'm a local tour guide based in Shimizu, Shizuoka.
I was born and raised in Shimizu, so I know the area very well and enjoy sharing its charm with visitors.
Before becoming a guide, I worked as a teacher, which helped me develop clear communication and a passion for helping others learn.
I look forward to showing you around and helping you create wonderful memories of your time here.
Important
Starting August 1, 2025, I plan to offer guided tours based on cruise ship arrival times at Shimizu Port.
The exact tour dates may vary, but I’ll do my best to schedule them on days when cruise ships are in port.

Shimizu Panorama Tour
This tour takes you on a journey through the past and present of Shimizu Port at the Verkehr Museum, followed by a scenic drive up to Nihondaira, a famous mountaintop viewing spot. From there, enjoy sweeping views of the Suruga Bay, central Shizuoka City, and—on a clear day—the majestic Mount Fuji and the Southern Alps. Between April and October, you’ll also have a chance to experience tea leaf picking at the summit of Nihondaira.

Shimizu Port Discovery Tour
In this tour, you will explore the past and present of Shimizu Port and learn about the city of Shizuoka at the Verkehr Shimizu Port Terminal Museum. we’ll head to Shimizu Fish Market - Kashi no Ichi, known as the “kitchen of Shimizu Port.” Enjoy the vibrant atmosphere filled with freshly caught seafood, local vegetables, Shizuoka’s famous green tea, and seasonal citrus fruits. We’ll also stop by a Japanese convenience store, where you can take a short coffee break!

“The best tour we have ever taken.”
Take met us at the port and we connected super easy. He had listened to our travel desires and planned an amazing 4 hour tour for the 3 of us. He was so knowledgeable and easy to converse with. He had a print off for each of us with important information for our day, along with snacks mid tour and a sweet hand written gift at the end. He had tons of facts along the way about the history around us and also took pictures for us at some of the spots he took us to. We hope to visit again and would 100% book with Take again!

It was so funny that Rick tried to sit in the front right seat (the driver's seat) shortly after I suggested that one of you could sit there for a more comfortable ride. “Shimizu guide "Take" Excellent”

I am Fumie Ueda, a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter in Atami, Shizuoka, only 50 minutes away from Tokyo by Shinkansen trains. Atami is conveniently located at the foot of the Hakone mountains, and the base of the Izu Peninsula. It is also close to Mt. Fuji and the Shimizu Port in Shizuoka. I am excited to show you around beautiful places that I love. I grew up in Yokohama, spent 1 year as a high school exchange student in Allentown, PA in the US, went to college and lived/worked in Tokyo for about 10 years before coming to this beautiful onsen resort.
