I am Fumie Ueda, a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter in Atami, Shizuoka, only 50 minutes away from Tokyo by Shinkansen trains. Atami is conveniently located at the foot of the Hakone mountains, and the base of the Izu Peninsula. It is also close to Mt. Fuji and the Shimizu Port in Shizuoka. I am excited to show you around beautiful places that I love. I grew up in Yokohama, spent 1 year as a high school exchange student in Allentown, PA in the US, went to college and lived/worked in Tokyo for about 10 years before coming to this beautiful onsen resort. After becoming a guide, I met with guests from various backgrounds, and I feel grateful once again, for my experience to be exposed to different cultures in my youth. Let’s have a good time together!

Welcome to Shizuoka in the central area of Japan. I was born in Hakone, Kanagawa Pref. and grew up in Izu Peninsula, also studied English at Kanagawa University in Yokohama. After graduation, I have traveled to a lot of countries such as Europe, U, S., Asia and lived in Australia for a year. I had a great time to visit there to have a wonderful experience. So I decided to become a licensed tour guide for introducing Japan to foreign tourists. Now I live in Izu which is close to Mt.Fuji and Hakone. I'm interested in Arts, Hot Springs, traditional places and of course delicious food. “Excellent choice”
We came straight from our cruise, and she welcomed us with real warmth and energy, she shared great info, and kept the day engaging. What really stood out was how smoothly she guided us through transportation systems. We never felt lost or stressed. We stayed active, learned a ton, and felt truly cared for. She was an excellent guide. We highly recommend her!

“Great tour of Shimizu”
We had an enjoyable and highly informed tour of Shimuzu. We got a special look at Mt Fuji and all sorts of accompanying information. We were given a detailed understanding of the life of Tokugawa Ieyasu and of the shrine where he is said to have been buried. We couldn't have asked for a better guide. We highly recommend Moto and the tour he took us on.

“Great Private Cruise Excursion”
Moto made our day in Shimizu really enjoyable. He is so friendly and has so much knowledge and experience of Mt Fuji. He also arranged a private tea ceremony for us at a family-owned tea house taking us away from the crowds. I was traveling with my parents who are older and needed additional assistance amid Moto made sure to arrange a vehicle and the day around their abilities. Thank you again Moto for making our port day so enjoyable.
