Welcome to Shizuoka in the central area of Japan. I was born in Hakone, Kanagawa Pref. and grew up in Izu Peninsula, also studied English at Kanagawa University in Yokohama. After graduation, I have traveled to a lot of countries such as Europe, U, S., Asia and lived in Australia for a year. I had a great time to visit there to have a wonderful experience. So I decided to become a licensed tour guide for introducing Japan to foreign tourists. Now I live in Izu which is close to Mt.Fuji and Hakone. I'm interested in Arts, Hot Springs, traditional places and of course delicious food. I would like to introduce beautiful Izu which has lots of Geopark sites and traditional Hot spring resort "Shuzenji, Nagaoka, and so on. Please Enjoy this area together!! I am Fumie Ueda, a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter in Atami, Shizuoka, only 50 minutes away from Tokyo by Shinkansen trains. Atami is conveniently located at the foot of the Hakone mountains, and the base of the Izu Peninsula. It is also close to Mt. Fuji and the Shimizu Port in Shizuoka. I am excited to show you around beautiful places that I love. I grew up in Yokohama, spent 1 year as a high school exchange student in Allentown, PA in the US, went to college and lived/worked in Tokyo for about 10 years before coming to this beautiful onsen resort. After becoming a guide, I met with guests from various backgrounds, and I feel grateful once again, for my experience to be exposed to different cultures in my youth. Let’s have a good time together!

I enjoy showing travelers the countryside of central Honshu, primarily Shizuoka, ranging from the beautiful Izu Peninsula, Shimoda, and the Port of Shimizu, to Kunozan Shrine and Ieyasu TOKUGAWA, the elaborate resting place of Japan's first shogun. Since 2007 I have been an English-speaking tour guide, visiting most of the major sightseeing spots in Japan with international travelers. At the same time I have been working as an translator, mainly dealing with technical documents. Shizuoka prefecture has a number of spots for sightseeing, but they have not been fully covered in English-language travel books or on the Internet. So, as a local tour guide, through the TripleLights services, I am hoping to introduce some of the attractiveness of this region to the international visitors.

A beautiful day in Shimizu

My family and I had a wonderful day with Yasuko in Shimizu. We would 100% recommend her as a tour guide, she was very well organised and adaptable to our needs and always very responsive!

Yasuko Y.

Thank you so much for your good review. I'm really happy to hear that Ellie and your family enjoyed the tour. Especially, had a tea leaves picking experience, and could see a view of Mt.Fuji at Miho pine grove. I appreciate your cooperation. Enjoy the rest of your cruise trip in Japan.

6 Stars for Service, Initiative and Knowledge

We had a day at Shimizu, Shizouka with Moto and it was absolutely pleasant. Being native to areas around Mt Fuji viewing sites, he facilitated the tour well, with added knowledge about the ritualistic and also technical aspects of appreciating the town and Mt Fuji. He also brought us to some of the places that were outside of our requested itinerary such as the Fujisan Hongu Sengen-Taisha Shrine and a few other places. These places were intendedly added by Moto so that we are able to appreciate the surrounding and understand the ascent of Mt Fuji in a wholistic way. What initiative, amazing! The driver that Moto arranged for us was extremely kind, safe and reliable. He would even stop by certain places when he sense that we would like to snap a shot. When we thought we would miss our last stop at nihondaira observatory due to limited time on our itinerary, Moto and the driver stretched our itinerary to ensure we could visit the place before going back to our cruise. We were really touched by their sincerity and effort to go the extra mile for us. All in all, I would rate Moto 6 stars if possible and please be assured to have him as your guide in Japan.

Tour of Shimizu and Mt Fugi

Our guide Yasuko was wonderful. She communicated timely and often leading up to our trip giving us confidence she would show up. She arrived early and was waiting for us with a perfectly planned itinerary. She said it would take 8 hours and return by 4pm. We arrived back at 4:02pm. She prepurchased all train and Shinkansen tickets which got us to private tours of a tea plantation, sake factory and wonderful authentic Japanese lunch. It couldn’t have been any better and Yasuko made our day great. Hope to see her again. Matane..

Janet san & Rick san, thank you so much for the review of my tour. Luckily, we could see the views of Mt. Fuji often. I'm really happy to hear that you two had fun visiting the Fujinomiya area. Hope to see you in the future sometime. Enjoy your stay in Japan. Thanks again.
