Welcome to Shizuoka in the central area of Japan. I was born in Hakone, Kanagawa Pref. and grew up in Izu Peninsula, also studied English at Kanagawa University in Yokohama. I am Fumie Ueda, a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter in Atami, Shizuoka, only 50 minutes away from Tokyo by Shinkansen trains. Atami is conveniently located at the foot of the Hakone mountains, and the base of the Izu Peninsula. It is also close to Mt. Fuji and the Shimizu Port in Shizuoka. I am excited to show you around beautiful places that I love. I grew up in Yokohama, spent 1 year as a high school exchange student in Allentown, PA in the US, went to college and lived/worked in Tokyo for about 10 years before coming to this beautiful onsen resort. Hello, I'm Setsuko! I am living in Shizuoka City, Home of Mt. Fuji. It is a very attractive local city located in the middle of Japan. It takes about only one hour from Tokyo or Nagoya by the super express Shinkansen. I’d love to introduce you some historical places related to the first shogun Ieyasu Tokugawa, local arts and crafts and modern hobby manufactures as well as local specialities such as green tea, citrus fruits, and fresh seafood. Let’s visit scenic spots on the base of Mt. Fuji together. You can not miss many hot spring resorts in Izu Peninsula. I also recommend visiting industrial musems of Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda,Toyota, etc. in Hamamatsu area. People in Shizuoka are very friendly and welcome guests from overseas. Since 2007 I have been an English-speaking tour guide, visiting most of the major sightseeing spots in Japan with international travelers. At the same time I have been working as an translator, mainly dealing with technical documents. “Fantastic visit around Mt Fuji”

We hired Motoyuki for a full day trip from the cruise port to the areas around Mt Fuji and had a fantastic time. We talked with many other people from our ship who took other excursions around the area, and none of them had an experience anything like ours. We took public transportation, and then a hired car Motoyuki had arranged. Not only did we get amazing views of Mt Fuji, but visited waterfalls, a sake brewery, a fantastic lunch, and a tea house! Amazing. Motoyuki is very, very familiar with the area and knew exactly what to show us. It was a fantastic day, and I would not hesitate to give Motoyuki our highest recommendation to anyone considering him.

“Half day tour with local guide. ”

We loved the variety of experiences the day with Yasuko offered. We particularly enjoyed the green tea plantation. Amico, our host was so inviting and could not have been friendlier and more helpful. “1 day tour Shimizu ”

Sayori was a brilliant guide she suggested our tour route and we filled her advise. We went to some amazing locations viewing point for Mt Fuji a cable car ride to a shrine down to the bead where we got fantastic views of Mt Fuji again then onto the fish market and finished with a traditional Japanese fish restaurant….. what brilliant informative day with so many delights. My wife and I highly recommend our Tour guide to future visitors, you will not be disappointed…
