Welcome to Shizuoka in the central area of Japan. I was born in Hakone, Kanagawa Pref. and grew up in Izu Peninsula, also studied English at Kanagawa University in Yokohama. After graduation, I have traveled to a lot of countries such as Europe, U, S., Asia and lived in Australia for a year. I had a great time to visit there to have a wonderful experience. I am Fumie Ueda, a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter in Atami, Shizuoka, only 50 minutes away from Tokyo by Shinkansen trains. Atami is conveniently located at the foot of the Hakone mountains, and the base of the Izu Peninsula. It is also close to Mt. Fuji and the Shimizu Port in Shizuoka. I am excited to show you around beautiful places that I love. I grew up in Yokohama, spent 1 year as a high school exchange student in Allentown, PA in the US, went to college and lived/worked in Tokyo for about 10 years before coming to this beautiful onsen resort. After becoming a guide, I met with guests from various backgrounds, and I feel grateful once again, for my experience to be exposed to different cultures in my youth. Let’s have a good time together!

Hello! I'm Kozo. I'm currently living in Chiba, which is one of the biggest cities in Japan and located in the suburbs of Tokyo. So, I can guide you to the sightseeing spots in Tokyo and the suburbs, which include Asakusa, Nikko, Kamakura, Hakone, Mt. Fuji, and more. In those places, you can experience traditional Japanese culture and beautiful sceneries. I'm originally from Kobe, one of the major cities in the western part of Japan. So, if my schedule permits, I may also guide you to the attractive spots in Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, and Kobe. I took a Master's degree in chemical engineering at the University of Tokyo and an MBA degree at the University of Massachusetts. I am a professional engineer in industrial engineering, an industrial safety consultant, a registered management consultant, and a licensed guide-interpreter. I have been working for a Japanese chemical company for many years. So, if you are interested not only in Japanese culture but also in technologies and businesses in Japan, I may be a good company. :) As a part of my job as an engineer, I often travel outside Japan. The countries that I visited last year are Singapore, China, the United States, Mexico, Germany, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia. Among them, Singapore is my frequent destination. Also, in the past, I visited Spain, Italy, England, France, Hungary, India, Canada, Korea, Taiwan, etc. So, if you are from one of those countries, you may ask me how I felt when I visited your motherland. :) Okay, thank you for reading my self-introduction to the end. I hope I have a chance with you!

Merci

Born and bred in Tokyo I am still living in the suburbs of Tokyo. I spent several years in the U.S. and the UK and wanted to show international visitors around Japan in return for the hospitality I had received in foreign countries. After coming back from the UK, I obtained the qualification of the National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter. I can guide guests to every corner of Tokyo including areas off the beaten track. As a history fan I can tell you a historical episode behind the scenes. From a local perspective I can explain how we Japanese are getting along. Since I have science and technology backgrounds, I can give you a tour of scientific or technical things as well..

Hi! I am Macky. I am glad to accompany you on your tour to Japan and show you the beauty and experiences Japan has to offer. I am an English tour guide and I have guided many foreign visitors around Kamakura, Nikko, Mt. Fuji and Hakone. I love sightseeing myself and I enjoy food and wine… I have been interested in intercultural exchanges and have visited many places locally and overseas alike. I have strong passion in Japanese history, culture, and geography. More than just simply showing you the stunning beauty of the places, I love to impart the cultural and historical value of each sightseeing spot. A stop in the quiet Mishima with Yasuko-san

As I am leaving Mishima, I want to dedicate a big “Thank You” to Yasuko-san. She is a knowledgeable and funny tour guide who could patiently adapt to my needs. We made a tour in Mishima, a city that is really worth a visit for its “city of passage” atmosphere. I enjoyed every minute. Time passed so fast! I am glad I did stop for a day in Mishima in company of Yasuko-san and I’ll always remember this part of my trip.

Yasuko Y.

Thank you for joying my tour, I'm really happy to hear that you had fun walking in Mishima. After the cherry blossoms season, we could enjoy the atmosphere of the Genbei stream and the Mishima Taisha shrine without too many tourists. Also, you enjoyed eating the famous grilled eel dish in this city. Thank you so much for your good review. Enjoy your stay in Japan. Stefano san, see you sometime in the future.

Yamaha Kakegawa Factory/Yamaha Innovation Road/Kasuisei

It was a great travel experience with Yumiko san who loves the places and also explained in depth on the details/history of each spot. She is passionate and also experienced as a tour guide. She also provides extra support to me in sending a parcel to my home in post office (as native Japanese speaker), hope can have her again as tour guide for Mount Fuji exploration???? next time. Thanks Yumiko san!

Yumiko M.

Thank you for your prompt and excellent review!! I had a great time being with you!! You are like my old friend. It's rare to visit YAMAHA Piano Factory on a tour, so it was a precious experience for me, too. The countless Hina dolls at Kasuisai temple were amazing. I hope we can meet soon again. Thank you very much, Winnie-san!!

A wonderful day in Shimizu with Fumie

My wife and I and our friends were on a Viking cruise and stopped at the port of Shimizu. Fortunately for us the cruise ship was staying overnight in Shimizu and we were able to book an eight hour tour. Fumie met us at the cruise port at 9 AM. Fumie had arranged for a private car and driver for the four of us to visit a tea plantation, have a delicious lunch in a "farm to table" restaurant, go to the World Heritage site and museum of Mt. Fuji, visit the waterfalls by Mt. Fuji and taste sake at a sake factory. It was a busy day but because we were a small group we did a lot. Fumie is truly a professional. She offered us options on things to do in and around Mt. Fuji. Her English and her personality are excellent and she gave us insights into the people of Japan. She respected our physical abilities as senior citizens and planned a pace accordingly. I highly recommend Fumie as a tour guide.

Fumie U.

Thank you, Roger-san, for the great words on me. It was a pleasure serving your team and I hope you will come back in the future. Wishing you the best, Fumie
