About Tour Guide Yoshiyuki Y.
I was born and raised in Hiroshima, and I have been guiding visitors for more than ten years. For the past three years, I have been a professional guide, and I have conducted over 200 paid tours.
My specialties are guiding visitors around the Peace Memorial Museum, the Peace Park, and Miyajima Island. I also enjoy introducing people to Saijo, which is famous for its sake breweries.
Thanks to my long experience, I am able not only to explain the exhibits and monuments, but also to share the deeper stories behind them. Many of my guests have told me they especially appreciated this.
As a second-generation atomic bomb survivor, I feel a strong responsibility to pass on the stories of Hiroshima to people from around the world. At the same time, I want my guests to enjoy the beauty and hospitality of this city.

“Visiting the Atomic Bomb Memorial ”
We had only about 3 hours in Hiroshima and looked for a guide that could help us experience the power and emotion of this historic site. Yoshiyuki met us at the shinkansen and brought us to the memorial park. His knowledge and especially his strong connection to this place is evident and was deeply moving for our small group. My name is Miyu. I have been a Nationally Licensed Guide Interpreter since 2009. I began my career as a tourist guide last year after working as a public servant for nearly four decades. I worked in the Atomic Bomb Survivors Support Division for 12 years until I retired from the local government, and I continue to interact with Hibakusha. Therefore, I have a lot of knowledge about A-bomb survivors, the reconstruction of Hiroshima, and the effects of radiation on the human body, which I can correctly convey to inbound visitors. I have experience in tea ceremonies and calligraphy and am especially good at guiding visitors through tea ceremony experiences. I love to watch baseball games, so I enjoy talking about them with guests from countries where they are popular. I am a volunteer medical interpreter and can respond to visitors' sudden health problems.
