About Tour Guide Yoshiyuki Y.

I was born and raised in Hiroshima, and I have been guiding visitors for more than ten years. For the past three years, I have been a professional guide, and I have conducted over 200 paid tours.

My specialties are guiding visitors around the Peace Memorial Museum, the Peace Park, and Miyajima Island. I also enjoy introducing people to Saijo, which is famous for its sake breweries.

Thanks to my long experience, I am able not only to explain the exhibits and monuments, but also to share the deeper stories behind them. Many of my guests have told me they especially appreciated this.

As a second-generation atomic bomb survivor, I feel a strong responsibility to pass on the stories of Hiroshima to people from around the world. At the same time, I want my guests to enjoy the beauty and hospitality of this city.

I look forward to guiding you and creating memorable experiences together.

Thank you very much

Visiting the Atomic Bomb Memorial

We had only about 3 hours in Hiroshima and looked for a guide that could help us experience the power and emotion of this historic site. Yoshiyuki met us at the shinkansen and brought us to the memorial park. His knowledge and especially his strong connection to this place is evident and was deeply moving for our small group. We were 6 people on this private tour and that allowed us to explore and feel the exhibits through his words. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and for your patience with us. Warm regards Tom

Dear Tom, Thank you very much for your kind and thoughtful review. It was truly an honor to spend those three hours with your group and share the story of Hiroshima with you. Knowing that you felt the emotion and significance of this place means a great deal to me personally. As a second-generation hibakusha, Hiroshima is not just history for me — it is deeply connected to my family and to the message I hope to pass on to future generations. I am grateful that your group took the time to listen so sincerely and respectfully. I also appreciated your curiosity, kindness, and patience throughout the tour. I hope the experience in Hiroshima will stay with you for many years. Thank you again for visiting Hiroshima, and I wish you and your group safe and wonderful travels in Japan. Warm regards, Yoshiyuki
