“A fantastic tour of Kyoto with Michiko”

We had an outstanding day in Kyoto with our tour guide, Michiko. She was extremely knowledgeable, courteous, patient, and professional, and she went out of her way to ensure we had a wonderful experience. Knowing that my wife deals with a debilitating illness Michiko showed exceptional kindness, patience, and consideration throughout the day. She continually made sure we were comfortable, well rested, and hydrated, taking our needs into account at every step. Her guidance through Kyoto was excellent, making navigating the city easy and stress-free. She was always willing to share her knowledge, answer our questions, and provide information about the places we visited. Michiko took us to her favourite noodle restaurant for lunch. She was thoughtful in accommodating my wife’s preferences, knowing that she ate very small amounts at any one time. She handled the situation wonderfully and made sure we both enjoyed the experience. Michiko truly went above and beyond to make our day special. Her kindness, attentiveness, and genuine care made a lasting impression on us, and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. We would highly recommend Michiko to anyone visiting Kyoto she made our day memorable, comfortable, and thoroughly enjoyable, and we are very grateful for the wonderful experience she gave us. Dear Roy and Audrey, Thank you so much for writing such a wonderful review. It was a great pleasure to show Kyoto to a couple like you two—who are so friendly, open-hearted, and full of humor. Although the trip from your hotel in Osaka to Kyoto was a long one this time, it became a good chance to talk much about our respective countries’ cultures, nature, and families, and the journey flew by. Not only did we visit major tourist spots filled with history and culture, but the small garden where we crossed the stepping stones in the shallow water with bated breath, and the moments spent by the riverbank with the wind blowing as we mingled with the locals—all of these moments became unforgettable ones for me. I hope Kyoto has left a beautiful impression on both of you as well. I truly wish you two have many more blessed days filled with harmony and joy.

“Nara park during Obon ”

Michiko took care of us and allowed us to discover the Nara park, its temples and shrine. We were introduced to beautiful national treasures and to the history of the city. Michiko personalized the tour to our needs and interests. We were pleased and are very thankful.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review. It was a great honor to show Nara to a couple as wise and thoughtful as you both. In Japan, it is believed that ancestors’ spirits return home during the “Obon” season, and the light of candles serves as a bridge to convey our “gratitude” and “prayers” to our loved ones. “Michiko was an excellent guide for Kyoto!”

We booked a 7 hour tour for 5 with Michiko and loved it! She sent us a proposed itinerary in advance which included 3 temples and lunch. Her choices were very thoughtful and we enjoyed the temples very much. The lunch she scheduled was a highlight of our dining experiences in Japan. We enjoyed delicious sushi, met the chef/owner and learned about sushi knives. Michiko was also very easy to understand and spoke excellent English. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review. I felt very lucky to have been able to see even just a little bit of the Gion Festival—one of Japan’s Three Great Festivals—and its “moving art museum,” the Yamahoko Parade, and to share this special summer experience with you. You are all so friendly and open-minded, and I was really impressed by how interested you all were in Japanese customs and culture. I hope you’ve found some favorites in Kyoto and Japan.
