Leaving from Edinburgh we'll travel North to Loch Ness taking in Loch Lomond, Glencoe, Fort William and eventually Castle Urquhart before heading back to Edinburgh and a late dinner.
This itinerary can be customized to meet your needs and preferences. Send me a message with your requests!
I'll uplift you from your hotel and we'll head out of Edinburgh through the New Town and Westwards passing Linlithgow Palace and The Kelpies.
We'll pass Stirling Castle before travelling through the Carse of Stirling heading for Loch Lomond
We'll stop in the village of Luss for a coffee break and a chance to see Loch Lomond up close.
Arriving at the top of Loch Lomond we'll now head right into the Highlands.
Perhaps the most atmospheric place in the country? We arrive here after driving though Rannoch Moor and seeing the must be photographed, Buachallie Etive Mor. As we drive through the Glen, stopping for photos, I'll tell you about the clans that lived here and an important event in history in 1692.
Lunch. After passing Loch Leven and Loch Linnhe we arrive in the town of Fort William which has plenty bars and restaurants at which to lunch.
We'll continue North passing Ben Nevis, the Commando Memorial, Loch Oich and the Well of the Seven Heads (great story there!) before navigating through more of The Great Glen.
Loch Ness is now in view. Here we can see the locks on the Caledonian Canal and you'll have your first opportunity to purchase Nessie memorabilia!
The best place to view Loch Ness from. Stories here of Picts, St Columba, monster sightings and destruction.
We now have to start the long road home, we'll skirt round the South of Inverness before taking the A9 road to the South. We pass nearby Culloden so it gives me a chance to give you the whole 1745-46 story, or you can now take the opportunity to have a quick snooze.
A brief stop in this little town for a quick refreshment.
I should have you back by this time, it's been a long day but you've had the chance top see a lot of Scotland

This is a long day!!
I drive this route a lot and the day can be altered by many things, traffic, excitement at certain spots and lengthy meal breaks.
You'll spend a lot of time in the vehicle but as I say you'll see a lot of the country. I am happy to explain further if you're interested and alter the rout in places to cover other areas.
I am based near Edinburgh and work in the city as well as carrying out day trips from there. I will also accept bookings to tour throughout the country using my vehicle.
I am a Blue Badge Guide, qualified with the Scottish Tourist Guides Association to guide throughout Scotland.
After thirty four years working for a large Scottish law firm and a further four in the wilderness I think I’ve finally found my calling… an opportunity to show visitors my country while telling stories, sometimes tall, while hopefully being educational and entertaining.
I was born and brought up in Edinburgh and have lived in Scotland all my life with the exception of a three year period when I went East to experience another culture. I am of course biased towards what Edinburgh has to offer (it is the greatest city in the world) but acknowledge the depth of history and attraction of our other cities and of course the beauty of our islands, countryside and waterways.
I have worked semi-professionally as a photographer and am familiar with the areas around Scotland where the scenery will bring out the best in your art.
I am also very much interested in our national drink (not Irn Bru) and can guide you around the areas where our many distilleries are situated.
There’s a lot to see and do in Scotland, I’d be happy to be part of your experience.
I am a driver guide with a vehicle which can seat 7 passengers and with a long wheel base to take all of your luggage and shopping!
