Short introductory walk around the iconic Liverpool waterfront buildings, statues and canal, showing the evolution of Liverpool from a bathing resort to the second largest port in the British Empire. . .
A short visit [for optional refreshments If desired] to the New Museum of Liverpool in the dock area to get a feel for the interesting history of the port. This is the only museum in the country purely about its own city and contains over 10,000 items all of local.importance. Cathedrals, Trains, Chinese, Beatles . . and so much more.
This is guided taking approximately 50 minutes with wonderful views of Liverpool including the modern container port, whilst taking a mini cruise accompanied by Jerry and the Pacemakers!
Taking the train to Port Sunlight village, the inspiration of Lord Leverhulme who created an amazing Garden Village, with mansion style housing just for the workers at his soap factory.
Lord Leverhulme was a great collector and the gallery, built in memory of his wife, Elisabeth Ellen, [1851-1913], to house his eclectic collection - one Edwardian gentleman's personal collection, which has never been added to or taken from. One of the best china collections, particularly world famous Jasper ware.

A walking tour through the wonderful gardens to study the housing and public buildings to a different station catch the train for your return to Liverpool. An architectural masterpiece!
A short 20 minute train journey. We will return you to the nearest station to where you are staying and take you 'home' to your hotel!

All National Museums in Liverpool are closed on Monday. Normal hours are 10 - 5. Alternatively Liverpool Tate Gallery is open on Mondays.
Train and ferry tickets are included but not any refreshments. Advice will be given as to suitable restaurants/pubs/cafes etc.
Sensible clothing according to the weather are advised, and comfortable footwear.
Even if you do not want to take the walking tour of the iconic, conservation area of Port Sunlight Garden village, there is a short 5 minute walk from the station to the gallery. One highlight for the ladies is in the cafe restroom, we still have 'the penny in the slot' access! [disused!].
